Just out of interest did you try a 911 or just decide that there was enough mixed opinion not to bother?

I'm guessing it wasn't a GT2RS

I agree the 330 isn't a proxy on its own, that was more to point out that I'm saying it all as a BMW fan and owner, but the M3 my friend has is. I've been it plenty and driven it some. It's a great car, I've thought about getting one for my daily, but it'd always be second to the feeling in the 997.

Anyway the point's moot now because that is a very different choice.
