Have touched on this elsewhere but doesnt look like £399 for a 3yr/36,000 mile service plan for my incoming F11 535d makes any sense based on service intervals being about 18,000 miles and the bigger service being the even numbered ones? I might just scrape a second service out of them if I do at least 13k miles pa but if I don't I lose the second service and have paid over the odds for one basic oil service. Plus it was registered in Oct 2016 so have 'lost' about 3 months worth of mileage ( I assume plan will start from date of reg rather than date of purchase - would ask dealer but salesman is 'always with a customer' or only answers half of any emailed queries).

Are my man maths working?

Following up on this they have offered 5yrs/50,000 for £575. This pretty much guarantees small service and big service and vehicle check +brake fluid yr 3. Looks better than cost going direct to dealer but insisting you do the microfilters yourself (for £20/10mins cost rather than £180) !

575?!

I was told the service pack pricing was fixed by BMW UK and it was 800 quid for a 5 Series older than 90 days but before first service.

They did state it was £800 after March so yes it does seem to be a 3 month offer. Worth taking I think but damn the cashflow hit!!! Shame teh dealer couldnt offer this as I could have planned the financing a bit better,

3d service will likely be at 54,000 won't it? How do you get condition based servicing down to 16500 miles each! E61 used to be about 17000 I think.

You've done well to get the old service pack out of them as a deal.

I doubt I'll bother with this new 3 year/36k service pack on my new X5 when it arrives next month.
I would have likely bought the 5yr/50k one at 575 though.

When I bought my 135i new back in 2011, the service pack was 5yr/62k for 300 quid......now that was a bloody bargain!!

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I've a similar question.

I'm about to pick up my M2 and the 5y service plan is £1,000. Has anyone an opinion on if that's worth taking out or not?

I do very few miles, probably only about 3,000 a year in each car, so I'd think not, but of course it may make it far more appealing when it comes to selling (which may be in six months when my RS3 Saloon comes along...)

I thought they'd stopped doing the 5 year and switched to 3 year?
Either way, on your mileage I'd suggest you won't get the value from it.

They said they'd honour the 5 year as I ordered before the change.

I've decided not to go for it, it looks like the services aren't so expensive, and I may well only need the running in service if I only keep it for a year or so.

I don't expect anyone's going to offer me anything extra for the car whe I sell it just becauuse it's got a four year service package.

I pick my new 540 up on Monday, I've been offered the 3 year service pack for £399. I do about 11K miles per year and will probably keep the car 3-4 years so a bit marginal for me. scratchchin

Are you including the 'all important' microfilter here - they charge £180 for this comedy alone!

Think I'll get 2 services (aka 'engine oil change'...) at effectively £287.50 each and hopefully will include a brake fluid and 'inspection' too. If I play it mileage right! Have 2k on car now and looks like service interval is a computer say yes 18k...

>edit< this was a response to a post that seem to be gone now<
