Totally agree with this. I have super sports all round on mine and the grip really is good - still spin in first (if pushed hard enough) but struggle to in second however, Super Sports have been discontinued in the size required for E39 rear... therefore, Pilot Sport 4 look like the option now. Those and I have good feedback on the Sport Contact 6 which a friend is running on an E92 M3

Also a valid comment regarding them being new and needing a good heat cycle to "warm them up"

Pilot Sport 4S are the replacement for Pilot Super Sports, Pilot Sport 4 are the cheaper version leading on from Pilot Sport 3.

Meant to be much better in the wet than the PSS too!
