Yes, its a proper hydraulic system with a 2.2:1 ratio rack, rather than the electric POS in the M2.

I've done 5000 miles in my 1M.
She had 19,000 on the clock when I bought her.........
IMHO there is not another car to compare for sheer performance coupled with practicality.
Definitely far better for my needs than the Porsche 991 I had previously.

Worth 40 to 50 odd grand any day......

Picked mine up from a full detail and ceramic-coating yesterday. Decision time, move it on or enjoy it for another year...?

Here it is looking mean and moody yesterday morning outside http://www.autocurators.com :

Not sure if I'm ready to let go yet...

....but any replacement :

- must be 'interesting'
- must swallow family of 5

I'm thinking maybe E63S Wagon if I can find a good'un.

Just waxed mine today and I still can't think of another car that I could replace it with, nothing else has the same appeal at the moment.

Have you driven one of those? Make sure you do before you sell the 1M...

so N54 engine better but still turbo lump
EPAS vs HPAS
short wheel base actually more fun, M2 not really long either
brakes need upgrading on 1M

looks are subjective in any case, but if I was modding, I'd start with an M car without so much $$. e.g. it's v8 brother, the E90 m3

I ought to drive one after passing up when I had the opportunity to buy new. The side by side comparison with the M2 would be nice. BTW, Actually haven't read any direct comparo. Anyone knows?

Saw a lovely Black one yesterday, heading westbound on the M4 (around JCT 12) at 4pm or so. (I was in my blue M6 GC if it was anyone on here)

Quite a lot of road presence for a small car. Very desirable indeed.

1M is a special car , I have had many cars and I can't think of anything to replace it. I've been to Europe twice in it and going to Le Mans this year. Maybe see some other 1Ms on route.

Agree still got mine owned since new, a keeper. Fabulous car even preferred it to a GT4.

Disappointing car for me the 1M, I bought mine 6 months ago from a main dealer as i've always loved the look of the it. No doubt it is a good car but i've never got to the point of loving the 1M so am dropping it with a dealer next week and changing to a C63 until (hopefully) the M2 CS/CSL comes along.

Still love my E30 M3 and greatly enjoyed having a friends E46 M3 for a few days recently, so it's not that i've gone off M cars, just never clicked with the handling or power delivery of the 1M.

Is dealer not going to have you over trading in. I can't imagine that being best way to sell.

Not at all, they were very fair and gave me what I paid for it, so cannot complain there at all

TBH for me enjoying the car is more important than what it might cost to own it, but in reality the AMG cars depreciate so quickly when they are new that the 2008-2012 C63s are quite a performance bargain now

Has anyone bought one or sold one recently? Seen a few cars sticking for a while on line now.
