I have owned my 2012 M5 F10 for over 8 years now and it has been a reliable and great car to drive.
Nothing much has been needed except the a/c compressor about 7 years ago when it had 50k klms on the clock.

About 4 years ago, the whilst the car was recoding 8klm of fuel left (!! long story, as I never let it get that close to empty) the car cut out and wouldn't start.
This was (eventually) diagnosed as a blown fuel pump fuse as I'm informed that the pump(s) are cooled by the fuel in the tank, made sense to me - happy days - easy fix....

Now to the point of the post, since that day 4 years ago the car has performed flawlessly (always serviced and fuel level never let drop to less than quarter tank...) fast forward to October 2023 and with the fuel tank reading 60 klms range left the fuse blew again - being prepared I had a few spare fuses, so less than 5 minutes later I was on my way again. This could again be a cooling issue, so was prepared to not fret or worry about it...Then, with almost a full tank, it blew again at the end of November - this time is was during start up whereas the previous 2 times it was whilst the car was in motion.

FYI - the car has now approximately 72k klms on the clock.

Anyone had any similar experiences..?

Next step will be to replace the inline fuel filter - do you think this could be the cause.

Any help greatly appreciated

Season greetings

Sounds like the fuel pump may be on the way out from your description?
