I do love the car, but still not a fan of the front and the interior...those are not my taste.
They could have done it more in this style, the Racing Dynamics style

though the motorsport from bmw looks nice too;

My friend at BMW has seen a Z4M Coupe with a carbon roof, CSL wheels and a few other bits floating around the English countryside...... what a prospect for a mid life update!

Its a bit odd to me that such a car has a 'Sport' mode button.... surely it should have a 'Pootling' button instead...?

That aside and Ok I'm the first to say it (only my opinion) it looks horrible. The std car is pretty horrible but this is worse, Take a leaf out of Audi's book and get it looking good.

Each to his own, but most people would disagree in my experience. I owned an Alpina Z4 3.4 Roadster before the Z4MC and that definitely split opinions but nobody who has seen my car in the metal has uttered anything other than praise.

p.s. there will be an article in the next edition of EVO featuring my car (either edition 100 or 101). Should be worth a read if you're interested in learning about the differences made by the change in tyres + strut brace.

Hmm..From what is written it's a good drivers car. I'd echo the doubts about non std rubber (although apparently not on the 'M'). My Audi has possibly ther worst ride ever, please keep the std rubber.

Audi, you say? Hmm, yes, that big mouth look is just so attractive.

Ah well, each to his own.

This IS a true Bond car. It is GORGEOUS.

And let's face it, this car will decimate TVR sales. Well done BMW!!!

Not sure if this is going to be accounted for from outside TVR.

I like the sounds of the review, sounds like real drivers car the same as the Z3M Coupe was designed to be. I also like the way BMW is restricting the number built, once again the same as the previous model.

I hope to have a go in one soon, well one day soon so i can compare my Z3M Coupe with the Z4M.

I however am still not sure on the looks, where as i always wanted and loved the Z3M Coupe, but i guess that is the charm of these cars... You either love them or hate them, thats why mine is nicknamed Marmite

One day perhaps...

Seen a few in the flesh and it is good looking car, maybe not to everyones taste but certainly a lot more handsome than the Z3M coupe. Reminds me of an e-type. A lot more masculine than a Cayman

I like the comparsion to a TVR earlier. This is the first BMW in a LONG time which I could see myself in.

It's a bit weirdburger and the 'carbon-leather' trim is rather naff, but in Sepang Bronze Metallic like the article I think its a bit of allright. Blue with CSL wheels is also top notch. An interesting car that I'd love to have a go in one day. Sounds nuts.

Guy next door has a black one with the standard wheels(awful) not very inspiring to look at from some angles while from others it does have a fair amount of style.
IMO i really think it lacks the brutality from a visual point that we have all come to expect from the new generation of M cars hence most peoples disappointment.
A facelift and some flared arches would go some way to changing my mind so would the csl wheels coming standard.

Having seen the CF leather trim up close, I think it looks very good. You can always specify something different if you don't like it.

I agree. The front of the z4 looks like a beached whale!

It's a shame, they almost had it spot on with the Z3 really. If they'd made the front end more menacing, and properly finished the back-end, it could have been an absolutely stunning car!

Even as it is I prefer the Z3 to the Z4 - Although I've heard that the Z4 handles better (having driven neither I cannot comment on that really!)

Agreed. Beached whale??? Are you mad??? Perhaps you'd prefer a Fiat Punto Cabriolet in Barbie Pink?

Land shark perhaps!

I really like it . Proportionally I think it's spot on, but some of the detail I'm not so struck on. I agree the front end lets it down a little but it's not terrible, just looks a little apologetic, rather than mean mad. Doesn't look different enough from the 3.0 either. Divides opinion like the Z3M coupe I suppose.

Haven't driven one yet but sat in one at Goodwood. Didn’t like the dash at all. This BMW banana/convex shaped dash style is unpleasant, especially after all their years of driver-focused cockpits IMHO.
