The article said:
The new M3 coupe doesn’t have its international launch until next month
The article then said:
as the coupe isn’t due to be launched until the autumn
Now, am I missing something here or have I a right to be confused as I wouldn't class July to be in the autumn!!

7m20sec the new skyline gtr is doing it in (circuit car june page 39), I wonder how close the m3 will be to that.
rofl 7:20 my ass! I can't see a 450-500bhp/1600kg GTR being 8 seconds quicker around there than the 612bhp/1380kg Porsche Carrera GT (which is also quicker than Enzo, SLR etc). 7:40-7:50 is quite believable though (Walter Rohrl has done 7:40 in the Porsche 997 turbo which is 480bhp/1560kg), maybe someone made a typo. Or maybe its just sensationalist crap, like 'Road and Track' claiming the 8:34 BMW F1 lap a few weeks ago was under 6 minutes rolleyes

Back on topic, IMO the M3 sedan is looking better than the coupe already.

I want the M3 touring!
They should have introduced the M3 Touring, and not the m5.
The Audi RS4 Avant version is the biggest seller.

I reckon an M3 Touring would sell well too.

Did anybody notice that the M3 saloon still has the coupe front end? The kidney grille is the same as that on the coupe - not the abortion used on the "normal" 3 saloon. Much better looking now than the non-M saloons. Shame thewy've retained the saloon back end though.

If you want one better order now as there's going to be a big wait
Much to late - already a two year wait! (Even if that will prob. come down a bit).
I know buddy I work for a dealer group. I've got customer's who placed their deposits 2.5 years ago and won't probably get their car for at least another year.

It isn't available today!
I'm pretty sure the 3 series Convertible is on sale at the mo, which has the same roof....

Too right.I'm first on my dealer's list but ordered at the same time as I took delivery of my last M3 - one of the first E46 cars - eons ago. Never yet had to pay my dealer a deposit though. They're very nice people!

The thing is that dealers will get M3 demo's for the SM to hoon around in yet you've got paying customer's waiting for their new P&J. Glad to hear you didn't have to leave your deposit as we have had a couple of customer's leave a deposit but forgotten they had and were suprised to get a call to say it's time to spec your car up.

I believe MK4 Slowride works for a BMW Dealer Group and I've known my Dealer for years and talk to a number of others plus BMW direct. Your friend seems to work for a pretty unique Dealer! Have you ordered then? I did add that I'm sure the two years will drop a bit - it always does as people drop out for various reasons - but not to that kind of timing. Unless of course you friend is talking about off loading a demo car. Which Dealer btw?

Your friends dealership can't have any foward sold M3's what so ever then! You might get an ex-demo after the new year 2008 but I very much doubt that he can get you a new M3 in two months, largely due to the 3 month period it takes from order to build.

Pugsey, My dealership's are taking delivery of the first M3's a week or so before september 2007 ready for the launch in early september. only one for our group i think will be used as a demo. If you see any new M3's on the road before then you can be sure they are either press cars or it's one of the top dogs in BMW.

Blimey if he means '07 wink and you want one I should snap it up. I'd want it confirmed in writing though, with a promise of return of deposit if it doesn't happen.

I considered it for a day or two, then decided that every Tom, Dick and drug dealer would have one by 2008 so it wouldnt exactly be that special. Plus for the money think i would rather have the RS5 when its out.

Huggy, you'll be better off with the New M3 as the world and his wife will have the Audi S5 by xmas as it's a 'new model line'. Also if you look at some of the recent new Audi's that've been launched after the BMW you'll notice how they've been copying us, Audi = charlotans smile

Others who may or may not own the car won't stop it from being special. I've seen some dodgy coves in AMV8s and Porsches - didn't stop me enjoying mine thanks very much! I buy what I want and stuff everyone else frankly.

If you're uncertain enough of your own image to let that influence your car choice so be it. Personally if I'm spending tens of thousands of £s the last thing I'm going to do is be influenced by what others think. 4wd? - not on this type of car thanks. All IMO of course and each to his own!

Im not uncertain of my image at all, i just dont want people who dont know me, stereotyping me just because i have a particular car.

Just what type of car is an M3 then, if you wouldnt want 4wd on it?
