1200 Service late at 5K miles, moments before I was about to hand over the cash too.

I don't personally think that the 1200ml service is the be all and end all but in a see of cars that have it, you don't really want to be the fish out of water that doesn't I guess.

It's the be all and end all when your warranty claims aren't honoured because it's been done late.

Phoned my local BMW dealer in Leeds, asked them what they'd say on the matter. The service manager informed me, "they wouldn't cover the engine or anything oil related".

They also said, "BMW dealers shouldn't even be selling cars if it hasn't had the service done on time"

Was it a black one? If so I also nearly bought that one last year. Williams Manchester said they would warrant it regardless of the 1200m service. But I'd have let them service it. It wasn't cheap enough and there were others around so I walked.

Yes it was, so they knew the service wasn't done at that time when you went to see it, the lying s.
I asked sales the man, is all the service histroy in order on my first visit and he said yes, I only decided to check it last minute, he flicked past the page quickly and said "you don't need to worry about that" refering to section where the 1200 insection should have been stamped.
I took half a day off work and spent 2.5 hrs traveling and £40 on train tickets yesterday

thats shocking! i would inform BMW Uk as above, dealers aren't supposed to sell AUC cars without the proper history.

i'm in the same boat as you, looking to buy one... there are few second hand and most are older lower spec models forsale at dealer prices bt delusional owners!

though i take the low number forsale on the second hand market as a good sign longer term

Sorry to hear about the deal falling thru. I would have walked away to. Yep the 1200 mile service is very important

tbh..If I was selling my car it would be close to dealer prices as most of them will have at least a year full warranty left to run..It's not as if there are many on the roads for you to choose from. You are getting a lot for your money at current prices.

couple of hundred, they wouldn't budge any more coz on friday it was up for £31850, they slashed the price of that one and the red one 2 grand over night

The above car is spot on if you want red, low miles and a good price. Makes the private sale prices seem a way off base

i haven't seen the red one down there in the 3 visits i've made recently, though those 2 do represent the best value one, there are a couple cheaper in the network, but the spec isn't so good
