Hi Guys. I've picked up my 2004 M3 convertible this morning smile

It's fully loaded with toys, one of which is the TV.

Obviously this turns the picture off when driving and only plays sound. But has anyone a way around this so the TV stays on when moving?

I know I know....before you all start, safety first, etc etc. Just thought it would be nice smile

Prepare for abuse - you should be watching the road etc etc, it's a distraction etc etc.

Yes you can bypass it, you need to either buy a lead that plugs into your dvd player in the back of the car or I am pretty sure there is a chap on here that plugs the car in and makes the changes that way - £50 or so IIRC.

PM me if you want his number. I haven't used him yet but was going to give him a bell as the missus wants to watch dvds whilst we drive.

Remember that if you just want it for the TV, the picture is going to be pretty poor as you are driving around, but would work well if you had a dvd player fitted.

I'm sorry but quite frankly, such a request deserves a slice of righteous indignation, although not, primarily, for reasons of prime saftey but rather, the inference that some blingy trinket is even registering on the radar when such thoroughbred nagware lurks beneath the vented foredeck.

I think maybe the TV continues to work if the handbrake is lifted just enough to illuminate the warning light - but I have to say it is 5 years since I tried (since then I just forgot about the TV which was a really useless toy IMO) so I could be remembering wrong.

Sums it up nicely.

Well I've tried the 'leaving the handbrake on' trick, and it doesn't work, it knows you are moving still frown

I'm going to speak to a local independant dealer to see if they can do it and will post the response on here.

FWIW I think the tv is pretty good (for a car!) and Wimbledon is good!

Does anyone know if the TV is analogue?? What will happen when they switch off the signal nationally??? Surely BMW have thought of this?
