Mind boggling! I took delivery of one of the very first of these and passed it on to a dealer for +£2k, who in turn went on to make a profit on top of that!! Someone somewhere suffered on that particular car. What an amazing bit of kit now for an everyday 'runabout' eh?http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/auc/car_details/0,,1260...

They'll be sub £20,0000 come next year.
Problem with these cars, same as most high powered cars that depreciate, is that when they get 'cheap' enough (ala E46 M3) they fall into the wrong hands and those people cant afford to maintain them.
A major service on an M6 costs close to £1000 for instance. If anything electrical or mechanical goes then make sure you have that warranty at the ready!

If you can buy an AUC car for £34k, say £32k after haggling, you wouldn't want to pay more than £29k privately.
I tried haggling with dealers and they offered to pay the road tax?? LOL. I think they are all taking a loss on M6's to be honest. There are not many about(1 for sale in the whole of Scotland) so i dont understand why the prices have not held??? it must be the real world MPG that bothers people as it is one hell of a car, the fit and finish, the speed and comfort, all the toys and knowing de-limited that it can do 200mph makes it a seriously great buy.Wanta996Gotta said:

And people wonder why dealers are going under. Whether they make a loss or not is irrelevant, the longer they sit on it the more they are losing.sato said:

Yes, it's the talk of 12mpg or less that's scared the hell out of people.
Dealer claims that with the correct setting, the M6 can equal my 996's average of 25mpg but did admit that if flooring it then you are looking at mid-teens. If anyone actually runs one and can give an in-sight into the real MPG then let me know. Wanta996Gotta said:

I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks the car ain't all that pretty. Comparing the M6 to the z4mc, although the m6 is a LOT more car in every respect, I honestly think I'd be happier tooling around in the 4. If I wanted the M6, I'd get a M5 tbh, as I think they are much much nicer looking.
anyway. Seriously good car for the money if you like the looks
EDIT: that said, the car linked to by the OP is actually a very nice example of a M6, teh clour suits it well.
