Yes, it's the talk of 12mpg or less that's scared the hell out of people.
Dealer claims that with the correct setting, the M6 can equal my 996's average of 25mpg but did admit that if flooring it then you are looking at mid-teens. If anyone actually runs one and can give an in-sight into the real MPG then let me know.
I've been running my M5 for about 4 weeks now and am averaging 17mpg with mixed motorway and A/B road hoons with a few mates demo's!!

On a motorway trek the other week it would see 20+ mpg no probs....

For the car that it is...I'm well chuffed...

If you can buy an AUC car for £34k, say £32k after haggling, you wouldn't want to pay more than £29k privately.
I tried haggling with dealers and they offered to pay the road tax?? LOL. I think they are all taking a loss on M6's to be honest. There are not many about(1 for sale in the whole of Scotland) so i dont understand why the prices have not held??? it must be the real world MPG that bothers people as it is one hell of a car, the fit and finish, the speed and comfort, all the toys and knowing de-limited that it can do 200mph makes it a seriously great buy.
It's the cost of fixing it if it goes wrong that frightens people. Without a BMW warranty these things are moneypits.

I pay £895 a year Porsche used car warranty which has just gone upto to £1300 a year. I think BMW have something similar but slighly cheaper.

12.1 at the present time.

It's range is so woeful that it only has one possible, masochistic application: painfully expensive toy.

I am tempted to sell mine every fortnight and then I unleash it upon the local moor.

At which point I am reminded of a confirmation penned by venerable tome Evo in which the rationale of continued fiscal proctology is endured, namely, it being "one of the great driving experiences[iirc."]

It remains the most criminally ignored method of Norsethrape yet devised by the kreighammers of Asgard.
