There is a recall for a DCT gearbox software upgrade. Has anyone heard what this is about?

Yeah about a month or so ago. Something to do with the car leaving you 'without drive' under certain circumstances (from memory)

Anyone know what dates of manufacture this involves? Mine was only delivered about a month ago, so I assume it won't need upgrading?

I found a 12 page thread on it here:

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1775...

The cutting out issue (which I have not experienced) is only one of a number of issues addressed by the software upgrades that posters there have had. However, while they have found some aspects of DCT performance improved, they have found others made worse by the upgrade. I presume the upgrade they have had must be the same one which is the subject of this recall. I have asked my dealer for comments.

Let us know what your dealer says. Called mine to try and arrange the 1,200 mile service and find out if it's subject to the recall, but still waiting for a call back.

The US posters have had an upgrade to software version 31.1. My dealer says that the version he has received is 31.2, so hopefully it will avoid the issues referred to by the US posters. Only time will tell, I am getting the upgrade on 1st December. BTW, in spite of the minor issues I think the DCT is fantastic.

Likewise I think DCT is pretty damn good. Only real criticisms are that it can be a bit jerky in automatic mode until it's nicely warmed up.
