hi all, anyone help me on this, I have a fault on the parking sensors car is an early 05 m3 cab.
when I engage reverse just get a high pitch continuous beep for about 10 seconds, and sensors do not work, looked in manual and it says this indicates a fault, and to take it to a dealer. Trouble is that I live in France and my nearest dealer is miles away, and so wondered if there is anything that I could try first.

Cheers, SFM

There's a test for the PDC on e39's: e46s have lots in common, & doesn't cost anything if it's not the same. With ignition on, engine off, engage reverse, & listen to each sensor: if they're the same as on a 5 they'll tick rapidly if they're working. No tick = new sensor needed.

Hope it helps

No worries: from a quick look at www.realoem.com, I think that's a bumper off job: the sensors usually twist in from behind. Shouldn't be too tricky, wouldn't need to be a BM dealer, but can't promise, I'm afraid.

Might be the full stop

www.realoem.com

Try now, seems OK - it links to the system BMW use for identifying part numbers: stick the VIN & it'll show you a diagram of what fits where.
