I've done a search and can't find this topic amazingly...
From looking at other topics I see a lot of coupe owners on here... So...
Is the handling any different - the roadster is 10Kg lighter so not weighed down with loads more metal in the sills.
I think they both look great.
I understand the coupe was developed from the roadster rather than the other way around as is usually the case.
I keep thinking I really should get the coupe as a 48 year old but I really want the roadster ???
Any ideas welcome

there is a lot on net at various zed and z4 forums and a lot of pro coupe opinion here. my feeling was coupe is good if you plan to do regular track stuff, but if it is more likely to be country roads, then my view was to enjoy the whole experience (sound, fresh air etc) and get the roadster and get roof down whenever possible, heaters and heated seats are very good in roadster.

but I do like the coupe and universially the engine in the z4m is loved and you get to hear/experience it more sans roof, sport button pressed, over run and all.

the z4m roadster in black is a pretty male car, so I'd lamp anyone who says hairdresser - maybe they buy/have 2.0 or 3.0 at a stretch but M is so much more.

Was a Z4 initially made as a roadster or a coupe ?
exactly..........

The Z4M tintop is stunning as is the roadster, but i was 51% for the roadster so i bought on the heart........No regrets.
Its a fantastic car and roof down it sounds absolutely fantastic.
Either one is good though

I am in the same situation. I was 100% pro coupe, but for some reason (been driving a 997 cab recently) seriously considering the rag top now.......... still not sure.

To me the roadster felt like it couldnt handle the power as well as the coupe. Under hard acceleration you could tell it was less rigid.

I had an Alpina Roaster S Z4 prior to my current M Coupe. The Coupe is much more rigid and feels more planted round the twisties. I also think the copue looks much better, and doesn't squeek and rattle the same. In the end I guess it comes down to what YOU want. I would rather have the Coupe. If that had been around when I bought the Roadster, I'd have had that instead.

some OK sun today, roof down at touch of a button and sport button pressed....even on wintery days like this the coupe's tighter drive just isn't enough - not when on road both have more than enough to indecent speeds.

on that hairdresser comment - I haven't got enough of my own hair to worry about that issue.

Z4 Coupe looks much better if you ask me but its your money. No doubt that the cabriolet is a bit less butch but all convertibles are aren't they.......

Its your money chap, forget what anyone else says and buy what you want. People who use the "hairdresser" comment are idiots to be ignored anyway.
