MY oh MY... isn't it a small petrol tank :-D !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic fun although fog, rain and wet slippery roads curtailed a lot of fun...

Still doing the odd look out the window back at home with a silly grin on my face :-D

Just to throw in another option into the equation as i have also been looking at 2005 M6's hovering around £35k. The new M3 at 36-38k at Dealers is surely an incredidble price at the moment? I know that to the un-trained eye they look like a 320ci Sport but its a serious peice of kit for the money.

I think it's a very different proposition... I'm 100% sure it would make a better track car in terms of being able to throw it around but in terms of "package" it's nowhere as special looking, sounding or as well appointed purely imho

If I want the ultimate M car for road use and half a dozen track days a year it would be the M6.

Not practical enough? M5.

If I wanted a car for more focussed track work then... it would be an M3 CSL

Therefore, for me personally the e92 is a bit of a misnomer

Caveated with the fact I've not driven an e92 which may completely blow that apart.

Pretty fair summing up I'd say. M6 is much more of an 'event' to drive day to day than the M3. And if you're THAT serious about your track days go for a Caterham anyway since, although a little more suited to track work, like most road cars even the M3 is pretty crap (reletive term obviously!) on track once you get seriously into it. In fact I'd say that for the occassional track day the M6 is MORE fun if you're more interested in HUGE sideways fun rather than absolute lap times. smile

Exactly how I see it... If I had the time for trackdays and a little more cash to burn I'd have a GT3RS or similar for trackdays but would need to have a serious trackday habit to justify it.

For the 3-4 I'd be lucky to manage in a year the M6 will be great fun both for me and spectators due to being a rare sight in the first place.

I actually think it'll be much better than people realise... it's seen as a softer GT by many when this is completely wrong... If the M5 is a saloon in supercar territory then the M6 is the supercar.

Everything the M5 is but lighter, lower, even more dynamic.

That's a bit presumptuous smile

Even if the engine is a corker I'm afraid visually they don't do it for me... exterior or interior...

E92 is a 'grower' as discussed elsewhere and certainly a more cohesive design than the M6.

S5 is plain Dull....
