Hey all, first post today, having just got back home with my 'new' (56 plate) z4m today.

mmm-five, looks like we were both looking at the same 2 z4m coupe's at almost exactly the same time, I called about your csl shod coupe at the dealership probably the day they sold it to you (O: I went for the one from Stratstone. I really like the black-on black, also you was a few k cheaper so pretty pleased actually, although I really like your piano black and cream combo. Did you take a look at the Strastone car?

If it was black/black, then no, as I was looking for any interior other than black/blue/bi-colour.

We bought a brand new ruby black with black leather Z4M cab in May of this year and back then it was 11K off list. Hate to think what it is worth now. It was for my sister and she loves it to bits. Best car she has ever had and she's owned a few. Still has only 800 miles on the clock. I keep telling her I'll drive it when it's run in. Should be ready for summer 2009 at this rate smile
I've got the same spec BUT what do you think of ruby black as a colour ???
My cars only 5 months old and the laqueur coat under halogen light is marked with swirls and haze all over....I had to get rid of the halogen spots and put up flourescent strip lights in the garage as it looked shocking. I tried some autoglym paint restorer which got rid of some bird lime marks but hasn't helped with the haze at all. You can't really see it in natural light, but I know its there......

Mine's got 11,000 miles on it now and the paint looks superb after a hand wash & hosed Turtle Wax. I'm getting it properly cleaned and covered in plastic in January though as I do a lot of motorway miles and don't want the front of it covered in stone chips.

Wonder if you fellow Z4mc owners could help me with something.

Only had the car a few weeks but I've noticed when driving quite slowly and turning in sharp 180 degree turns there is a rumbleing sensation coming from the rear of the car is that the diff or something? I'm talking seriously sharp turns in 1st or early 2nd gear and I'm not accelerating just keeping to about 10-15mph. This doesn not happen on roundabouts or anything like that.

Any ideas if this is normal or do I have a problem?

The maanual suggests that odd clunks coming from the diff is normal. First time I did a three-point turn in a carpark I thought I'd broken something.

Its more continuous than the odd time it lasts until I straighten the wheels up. Still under warranty but I bet its just the diff.

Look great - almost as though someone has had it specially detailed/finished at some point in the past.

My M6 wouldn't come up like that so I'll be taking it to KDS after the winter has done its worst.

I NEED a mirror finish :-)

Looks like I'm not the only one with the noisy diff issue, see the link below:

Tempted, though I'd prefer Imola or Ruby Black exterior, and extended leather inside. For £2k less than the cheapest BMW approved used one (which is older and has far more mileage) it looked a bit of a steal.

There is not one extra on the car, as I spoke to bmw about it. It's good money, but for a couple of K more you can find the same with the options. Most buyers will want the sat nav bluetooth.... & that car will be hard to sell on. I also phoned autoquake, you had to put £100 down before even seeing it. Dont like that!

While I agree with the scepticism about putting down money to see the car, at least they provide comprehensive info about their stock (and do check the Specifications tab because one 2yr old car I spotted had no service history, only mentioned there).

Sadly their stock does seem to consist of ex-company cars so they are a bit bare. Not many people order BMW 535ds without leather, but Autoquake seem to have a fair number of them.

Anyway, £18k for an 07 plate coupe with 11k miles seemed a bargain. Toys don't add much value, not when a car's already lost more than 50% from its list price.

mmm-five, how are you liking it? I've had mine a week now and I just cant help jumping straight into it as soon as I get home.
Did you sort the service situation out?

Loving it!

I've done about 2,000 miles in 2 weeks and am averaging 280 miles per tank. Don't think I'll get much over 6,000 miles out of a set of tyres though (£1000) - which is currently 3-4 months! And that's without any track days!!!

I'd even come to not dislike the ride from the CSL wheel and 35 front and 30 rear profile tyres until I hit a pothole yesterday afternoon in the twilight and had to be recovered to the dealer as the car was immobilised.

Luckily there's no damage to the wheel or suspension - although the dealer can't get a tyre until tomorrow! Think I'll have to see if a spare wheel fit in the boot!

The service situation is resolved, if not satisfactorily. None of the dealers have done an oil service, nor do any of them own up to resetting the schedule without doing a service. Can't contact the previous owner by phone, so it'll have to be letter. I'm not going to bother, I'm just going to do an oil service myself next week and then every 6,000 miles and write it in the book as an interim one - assuming it doing clash with a scheduled service that is. Might even get a stamp made up for my oil services and one for Darjac Racing for when they do the Inspection 1s and 2s.
