Anyone out there with an E39 M5 interested in trading up to an E46 M3?

Manual 2001 Phoenix Yellow, Black Leather, Piano Black Trim, Heated Seats, TV Sat Nav phone kit, Harmon Kardon, Rear Blind, 66k on the clock and FBMWSH.

I just love M5s and I'm considering going back to one.

Anybody want to go in the opposite direction??

Arghhh!

What were the circumstances? Any cold calling prior? Suspicious activity? An overnight break presumably?

What vile disgusting east european immigrants. Get a job and get your own shoot

not really wanting to provoke a rambling debate about relative values, but I'd assert that 'like for like' an M3 is worth circa £2k more than an M5, but thats not really the point of my post. I'm just looking to see if theres an enthusiast owner out there with an M5 who's looking to move to an M3 without the grief of selling/buying again privately or being had over big time by a profiteering dealer.

Fair enough, just thought I'd ask. Apart from always wanting to own an M5,my other favorite is the M3.I just haven't got 2K to throw in at the moment. Mines in for a brake fluid and coolant service tommorrow(£130)happy days

+3, Having owned 2 x E46 M3's and an E39 M5, the M5s by far the better car (if you can afford the running costs).

You forgot to add "IMHO".................biggrin

I've owned both also - and I'd hardly say the M5 is 'by far' the better car. They are purely horses for courses, and the M5 is cheaper to buy. Hence why I'd potentially like to change. (IMHO)

OK IMHO!

E39 is a just a class above the M3, albeit starting to look a wee bit dated now... all IMHO of course!

(When you do get the M5, budget on £2-£2500 for (at least) a front brake conversion; although in truth, a damn sight more for in reality, you need to do the whole bally lot! boxedin

I'm on my 2nd set of up front jobbies and they are shot to pieces.

Of course, this may have something to with the real world effects of entirely excessive 'Professionals' imbibement from hours spent mindlessly dribbling in front of Channel Dave and the consequent driving style enforced upon the tarmac of Satan's milling grounds! hehe)

Been a bit slack on the profile.

'99 M5 (T plate), Dark Green Metalic, Black Leather, 62K on the clock.
