Hi,

I currently own a 2007 Subaru Impreza STi which has had quite a bit of money spent on it to get it where I wanted it to be performance and style wise, power being at 420bhp/450lb/ft.

Upon recent times I have found myself looking on Pistonheads/Autotrader at different cars and their current prices, TVR Sagaris, Audi RS4, E60 M5 were but a few.

Out of all of the options I looked at the E60 M5 and it really interested me, I am at the stage where I have looked at this car and no there is no going back as its firmly sitting in my head, therefore I am after as much info and advice on the car as possible.

Firstly, I'd be looking at purchasing an E60 M5 on an 05-06 plate, are there any issues with the cars produced from those dates? Also what price do you think I should be looking at getting a good example for in this year range?

I average around 18-20 mpg in my current car with a combination of driving, what can I expect out of the M5?

Service wise, what are the intervals and what is the general costing?

With regards to components such as the brake discs and pads, what cost are these and how often are they likely needed to be changed, no track use?

Are there any major components that need replacing at a specific time during service that are costly?

Other than the exhaust system I think the M5 seems to be complete, I have trawled through what seems like millions of clips and I think I liked the sound of the Eisenmann Race exhaust system the best, does anyone have any ideas on where this can be purchased from and at what cost?

Finally I live in the North East of England, are there any specialists in and around that area that people take their M5's to for work to be done/servicing etc?

Any general advice and answers to the above questions would be great!!

Thanks

Greg
