Anyone had any experience of these on an M car?

Ive never heard of them before but have been told by someone i'd consider in the know that they are very good for the money & certainly better than some acclaimed premium brands.

Can get 265 - 30 - 19's for £150 each FITTED!!

http://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?details=Orde...

Pilot Sports are £367 each in the same size!!

Not sure if I should go for these or not.

The guy that reccommends them drives a Stage 4 VX220 Turbo - 300BHPodd & 850kg!!!

Check out the PH tyre reviews.
I've run them on lots of stuff and been more than happy.
I'll be sticking on the 355 and the M3 (which is due about now actually)...

Had them on a set of BBS CH's I had. Provided enough grip in the snow we had last winter and they have 90% of the grip a PS2. The Kumho does ultimately let go sooner than the Michelin, but for day to day use, they're fine. I'd have them again

Can't comment on the Kumhos, but the last PS2 I bought in that size was less than £250 fitted - have they gone up that much since February?

I'll be getting either the Kumho's or Falken FK452's for my M3 when they're due, lots of good reviews.

I can't help on the op's tyre but have also ran 452s and have them on the m3 now. Great tyres and a bargain.

I always use PS2s on my performance cars and FK452 on the non performace cars, I went from PS2s to 452s for the first time on the same car and same wheels last year and have to say I will never use 452s again.

I also bought a set of 19's and they came with KU31s on them, I had already ordered a set of PS2s, but due to work commitments I ended up doing a few hundred miles on the KU31s, and I have to admit I was seriously impressed with them.
In fact next time I need a set of tyres I will seriously consider them, they are right up there with the best, and absolutely fantastic value.

Sounds like they might be worth a dabble then! smile

Does anyone know if there will be any negative implications if I fit 265/30's instead of the standard 255/35's...................if im still running 225/40 on the front?

The fronts are pretty new - only done 3-4k miles!! Just been reading up that fitting wider tyres will give me more grip & better high speed stability.....on track off course! biggrin

Shouldn't be a problem. Here's the table of combinations for M3 alloys.

225/40-19 3.5in 13.0in 26.1in 82.0in 773 0.4% (#2 stock 19")
235/35-19 3.2in 12.7in 25.5in 80.0in 792 -1.9% (#3 CSL 19")
245/35-19 3.4in 12.9in 25.8in 80.9in 783 -0.8% (#4 wider 19" option used by some)

I can't comment on the PS2s to be honest, as I've never spent any time with a car with them fitted. My 452s replaced the standard fit M3 Continentals, and they were an absolute revelation in comparision. I didn't rate the Continentals at all.

I'd like to see if the hype of the PS2s is true, however that much money is just prohibitive to me. A set of 452s is less than £350 for 4 on my 18's (inc VAT and delivery to fit myself), and that suits me just fine .... At that money, a few drifts and slides on the track don't really hurt the wallet pocket. Very interested in the comments on the Kumhos though. They sound like a good tyre to try.

Not an M, but have them on my M-Sport E46 coupe. They were under half the price of Pilot Sports so got them off camskill and fitted by a local place.

They have a softer sidewall which is nice up here with all the potholes. Ultimate grip is pretty good and they were even reasonable in the snow when I drove to Val D'Isere and Morzine in February.

Take the advice & look at Camskill. Unless you drive like an idiot you will get good tyres (Nankangs) for under £70 a corner....

I have some on my M3 and went round the Nordschliefe a couple of week ago no problem. After a 2 week tour round Europe. I have E36 M3 so different tyre, but the brand seems good if that helps.

I have had my E36 M3 Evo for more than 5 years now.

When I bought the car it had already got Kumhos on it and they seemed very good to me. When the time came to replace them I was pleasantly surprised at the price difference over the premium brands and got another set.

I have continued to use them since and have been very happy. A friend of mine has them on his SL500 and rates them too.

Think about the usual premium brands and then consider Kumho to be the "best of the rest".

I can recommend Camskill for supply as they usually deliver next day if in stock.

Regards.

I use KU31's all round on my M3, previously had the PS2's on it, and the only reall differance is more cash in my back, they perform spot on, plenty of grip even when pusing hard.
