Its actually a shame that the new M cars are coming with grille mounted M badges. M6 and new M4! Audi did it from the start with the RS range so that looks normal. Are AMG going to start this fad?
They've already started factory grille badging 4 pot diesels and giving them ridicilous names like A200 CDI AMG SPORT PLUS.

So this knobber has a perfectly decent 645 and sticks an M badge on the back, M6 logos/bits on the sides (that say M6), and quad pipes. He forgot to do the wing mirrors.

He saw me in a real one and avoided any eye contact etc....

Aaargh.

These fake M badges have now started pursuing me onto my own street.

Please welcome the "M" 320i convertible. Lowered, with a baked bean can exhaust.

Thought for about 10 seconds of continuing my "NOT AN" M post it note campaign, but thought discretion is the better part of valour here.

Could you not draw an 'A' between the W and T on the number plate hehe

I think the E28 / E34 M5s had grille badges. Maybe it was the shape of the grille back then, but to my eye it certainly looked more natural on those than on any additions I've seen on recent models.

Maybe BMW will go for S-Line style M-Sport front badges too frown

The badge & stripes are not for me but its rare to see a 6 series that isn't a 640d...would love a 640d myself though.

I recently saw a 116i with a massive M bade on the back, the real shame was it was inside a BMW dealers second hand showroom!

There is a berk I see most mornings on the A12 near Ipswich in a white clearly badged 520d with M's stuck all over it, one behind the "d" at a slight angle, both front wings (not even straight) and one glued to the grill! Its a 13 plate car, poor thing.

The other morning he had his window down as we passed in very slow traffic, I think my blast of 7k as the tail pipes levelled with his ear, made him jump. He looked at me a meters further down the traffic jam, and I just made a sad face, looked down and shook my head slowly as if I had just witnessed a puppy get run over frown

Why do people do it?

It's particularly sad to see that, given what it is. It's probably one of the most expensive cars in the current BMW range, so to see it so badly ruined is a shame.

Yeah, but the stripes make it go faster, so the guy is clearly putting performance before taste. :-)

Saw this in Aylesbury. Whats that? An M3 you say?

Only missing errr, 2 tail pipes, which the current two are only in the wrong position, and pretty much everything else is wrong with the car.

I had a little encounter with an E60 "M5" during the summer when out in my E34. My behaviour in response was extremely childish and something I really shouldn't be proud of, but it did make me giggle. Plus I have to make sure the old girl doesn't get pushed around too much! biggrin

I should put the badge back on the bootlid I suppose though

Quality biggrin. I'd do the same to mine but it doesn't sound like it's anything but a v8 frown
