What's funny isn't the fact that some folk put a badge on their car...rather, it's the fact that so many of you supposedly grown men actually have the time or inclination to reflect on it!
Ha ha, I can't help but laugh at these people, pretending they're in a M3, after all it's the only 3 series worth having. It's clear BMW's marketing dept pay out loads to the motoring press and in promotional events, how else do their residuals remain strong after 3 years even though every 5th car you pass is a BM? Supply and demand, market forces determine used price, with so many 3 series available the market is clearly fixed.
It's like those folk who have the big polo logo on their shirts, or any kind of brash vulgar garish 'symbol' on display, they feel unworthy inside hence must 'show' others they are worthy. How insecure.
Anyone can get a BM they aren't exclusive or expensive by any means, so why do BM drivers think they are?

I really don't think BMW are doing us any favours, I was given a 320d touring M Sport today as a courtesy car while my 1M coupe was getting a service. It had more external badges than my real //M car, to the point where it even had a //M badge on the brake callipers?!?
This is so true!To be honest though some people fall for it, there's a random E39 on my estate, with Alpina copy alloys and an M5 badge, my neighbour was telling me how fgorgeosu it was, I had to point out it wasn't an M5 and he was actually shocked, Time to buy a 300c and some ebay badges for me then! Bentley here I come!
