Wish I had taken some pics but spotted a guy tonight with a rather nice looking 3 series leith what must be the entire BMW performance extras catalogue thrown at it, skirts, spoiler, diffuser… the lost. BMW performance stickers on the side of the sills……….upon closer inspection it was a 118d. The guy obviously thought it made him 'gangsta' as he was near enough in the back seat his seat was so far back.

I'm waiting for someone with an M135i to shout out 'thats not a real BMW performance car…it's just a sport' ;D

Yesterday I was an E39 of some flavour with "Alpina" written on the back in Halfords letters, I was going to go take a photo when I noticed a few cars along an E60 with the same style Halfords "M" then their "Sport" badge, I basically gave up on the general public and went to the cinema with the SO

I saw an M/// 640i in Rugby today, complete with M6 badges on the gills. What was worse was the M// on the boot was a different size to the rest.

So I drove past in my M135i. getmecoat

Please tell me that pic is from 2003! I thought there was more sense out there these days now that values have increased a bit. Whatever about the dodgy badging, those wheels are eek

I've always swerved this thread because of the length of it. Thought it was just an on going rant. Big mistake, love the pictures and "not" post-it's. I;m going to hunt for my own to post now. Shouldn't be difficult.

A couple of weeks ago I went to a supermarket in Felixstowe. Parked next to a very convincing E60 M5 replica. Had all the goodies apart from the brakes and then when you looked inside it was obvious with no heads-up or paddles etc. Anyway, perfect timing, as I came out of the shop he was loading his groceries into the boot. I got into mine and started it up with exhaust open. At which point he looked rather sheepish. I don't think his quite made the same sound. biggrin

Wasn't in my M today so wasn't able to compare to see if this was real or not.

Does it really matter?

Those interested in "M" cars know what an M car is , plus some put them on for the trim level as M Sport isn't shown

They could put up (like the inbetweens film) pussy brigade sts and giggles for lots of people

If you ask me, cars like the M135i, as good as they are, aren't proper M cars either but plenty on here class them as such. BMW say..

'It is positioned between the most powerful BMW series production models and thoroughbred BMW M vehicles.'

I translate that as its 'marketing'. Interested to know what others think?

<flame suit on, especially from M135 owners!>

I like the heads up display - didn't realise how clear they were in daylight :O
I've never seen one work in the flesh.

Yes, the HUD is brilliant - speed, cruise settings and nav directions are all projected. Or, when you're going for it, just the tachometer, shift lights and gear indicator.
