Anyway, the irony is that a lot of the cars I see with unmerited M badges would be better to drive than some of the clapped out M cars I see trundling around. The owners of the non-M cars don't even realise what you lot are so snobbish about. They see an old M3 and think that it's what is probably is: a much abused old banger. If you own a £3k M car with 120,000 miles, a load of modifications and seven previous owners can you really sneer at someone who, without understanding what 'M Power' actually is, has stuck an M badge on their 2012 320d?
In terms of feel, noise and fun, my old 120,000 mile E36 3.0 M3 was better than my current M135i.

Fake aerial on the roof as well, the E39 never had the shark fin. Why would you put a pretend aerial on your roof, bizarre.

It's an SE so he doesnt even have the 'It's a Sport, it has 8 factory M badges anyway' excuse.

Hats off and you were spot on for starting it in the first place and I am still none the wiser on why people still do it!

I am pleased I haven't got my Z4M anymore because I would imagine most people thought I was a tit driving that(possibly justified it was a convertible)with all the silly M badges that were on it from the factory and that I was trying to make it something that it wasn't...BMW do it now as standard though on nearly all the range regardless...how times have changed! biggrin

This has been one of my favourite threads, congratulations on it's longevity. It's even seen the introduction of BMW itself adding spurious M badges to the flanks of some of it's cars.

This is more like it, debadged, ceramic brakes and on winters. Stealth.

4 huge exhausts. Black carbon fibre roof. Aggressive bodystyling.

Yup, the ultimate in stealth.
Yep and painted piss gold into the bargain, never notice that would you?

Saw a genuine E92 M3 today with a ///Power badge on it. Thought that was a little different.

Frozen silver?

Saw an m3 replica in fast car they took a closeup of the fake m3 badge like it was cool. No wonder if the mag show cars are even doing it..

I cant believe how new that interior looks and usually you can tell with the drivers seat as they sag a little but that just looks brand new...it looks spot on! biggrin

I saw an awful white 5 series with a black boot lid, 2x ///M badges on the back and 2x exhaust pipes (instead of the usual 4). You're only kidding yourself

Makes little sense, but...

I can understand someone of student age making a basic Fiesta look like an ST. It shows me that you have aspirations to make it in life.

Trying to make a 520d look like an M5 just makes me think that you haven't made it to where you want to - and you are letting everyone know it. Kind of sad, really.

They never do the mirrors, of course. Instant fail.
