Ironically, 99% of people will think it isn't wink
99% of people won't actually care.

Pretty certain I saw a M120d the other day.

Theres a Chinese factory out there somewhere making a fortune from people's status anxiety.

Check out this beauty, M-badged, M5 referenced number plate and stunning blue inserts to the boot lip, door handles and mirrors. (It's a 1.9 turbo diesel btw!)

Plus.. bonus point for sh!t parking! biggrin
That photo shows how much they have fallen in grace, unfortunately now consigned to a life as a Chavs Chariot.
Isn't that a PH sticker on the bottom left of the tailgate?

Happy to report I've just done the opposite on my 135.
IMO the positioning of the badge on these cars as standard looked like the owner had put it on themselves.
Thought about a complete debadge, but kept the "135i" for now. Because that's what it is.

This "520d" badged M5 is my favourite though...

The first time the tractor engine starts up and there is a large cloud of thick black smoke, no-one will believe it's been to the world's finest tuning house!
WHY DO PEOPLE BOTHER?!?!?!?

EDIT - It's actually the 118D

why not josh haha ,i own a e60 m5 and they are the original cold start tractors,my neighbours hate the fact i have M badges on my car as i have a supersprint (straight pipes) x-pipe and complete back box delete as it should have left the factory, means st now and is so diluted it's frightening ,i cringe at some of the legit m badges put on cars by bmw themselves just to push sales,i have a bigger cringe at the dicks that paint or buy custom kidney grills with m power motorsport colours

I just get asked all the time ''is it real?''. Dependent on mood I usually say 'yes', or 'no, it's a 316 with a bodykit'. laugh

I must admit, I used to have a 316i that had been brought in from Germany and it had an M badge. It also had a few bits, like illuminated M3 gearknob and black headlining. It was all just wishful thinking and probably just not as common as it is today.

Have a look they're not, they are orange (the blubs) the lens is clear, I know I have one too. On the old M3 you could get Philips blubs that are silver but unfortunately we can't. (LCI M5 pre LCI doesn't suffer)

So in certain light conditions you get that horrid orange flash...

But not always:

My 335D was DMS remapped to 340 bhp and 525 lbft and I put a 320D badge on the back, so I did the opposite.
Oh, the fun I had with the hot hatch boys and I astonished a few Civic Type R and the like pilots!
I've got a 140bhp Saxo that will leave a Civic Type R
