Well since I bought the car with 18,000 miles on it just 2 years ago, I've been slowly adding mod after mod, well I'm finished now.... I think! Full Supersprint system, including headers smile RPI scoops, block off plates and oil cooler, Evosport pulley, AFE filters, DMS remap. Lots of CF bits and some stoptech BBK and I'm finished! Now on 102,000miles and after a long remap session today which actually involved 38 miles on the dyno we gave up at 589.6bhp! Crank obviously! Will post full dyno results through out when I get them! Would be interesting to see the various tweaks give and take bhp. DMS did a great job, very happy with the results, not just the final figure but it makes a HUGE difference early on the rpm range and feels simply amazing!

102,000 miles and 589.6bhp, these are some seriously wonderful engines, what a shame they have to go and lose a couple of cylinders for the F10 frown

YUP frown it seams to happen a lot, wheel balance weights, or warped discs. In fact I've gone through 2 sets of oem doscs and had it on each set after about 15k. Noot had it at all on the BBK. so not sure if it's a oem problem or just bad wheel blance set up.

Hiya M5Mark!

Very impressive indeed! and I'm one that's fully supportive of high end BMW tuning so top marks for you in acheiving this and the SuperSprint mission you accomplished!

Personally though, I think you are still missing a 'couple' of bits! from the pics, can you guess what they are?!!

That was SEMA 2009, and I've just returned from SEMA 2010! suffice to say, the BMW's I saw were simply awesome!

Cheers, Dennis!

PS - you only get one guess!

LOL 60k for a twin supercharger kit is a bit too much! All though ESS have a single supercharger at about 12k....

WOW! Almost 90bhp from what are fairly basic mods. Very impressed.

Is this a full road-going map for every day use? How much difference did the pulley make?

I don't know which I'm more staggered by .... the car, or the fuel bill in two years to go from 18k miles to over 100k miles!!

The pulley is claimed to make 12-15nhp. Same for scoops and block off plates, it's nto something that can honestly be felt though. At higher speeds the scoops do have a noticeable feel though.

The headers however were very very complex and also the major gain. I had to return the car to standard before taking it down to Supersprint in Italy and leaving it there for a few weeks, there was almost 50bhp gain and close to 50 lb/ft torque from these also! Still the only set of right hand drive E60 M5 headers in the world! Strange that nobody else has ordered any yet!

Hiya

It's a nice feeling when being totally or as close to unique with certain parts/mods on your car!

However, now that Supersprint have developed the RHD headers for the E60 M5 on your car, how much is retail likely to be for other owners looking to have them as well? I'd 'estimate' £3000+ ? a +/- 50 BHP gain from just those is a fantastic gain!

I'm not so 'clued' up on the mechanical tuning aspects of this kind of stuff but I do know some of the very best BMW tuners in the game, and now that your's is Normally aspirated at 590 bhp, I'm a little confused as to why this months (or last) Performance BMW boasts about a Twin Supercharged E60 M5 at 'just' 608 bhp. I'd have thought it should have been 650-700? is it the 'boost level' ?

I've still yet to have a go, passenger or driver in an E60 M5 - would love to know how they are in that respect!

Cheers, Dennis!

I think the full supersprint system headers back for left hookers sells at around 9000 euros, so guessing about 7k here frown

Gpower twin supercharger makes between 720-800bhp depending on kit, even ESS single SC makes around 610 so no idea why this other system makes just 608. Watch for february BMW CAR Magazine, there will be feature on mine there with all the details on each mod in detail smile

Hiya again

£7 grand !!! wow, that's alot more than I was expecting, I'd have thought there'd be next to no market at that price even with the proven 50 bhp increase, when perhaps similar or a little more money would see a supercharger fitted to a standard M5 to see 100+ BHP? - if SuperSprint now have the RHD developed using your car, then I'm sure a production run to retail would see them at significantly less at retail price for the general E60 M5 crowd to consider ? - that said, RHD is only us lot in tiny little UK with an even tinier amount of E60 M5's and an even tinier amount of modifiers!!

I think the 608 twin supercharged example mentioned is deliberatley running 'low' and could probably be wound up to give quite a lot more power I'd have thought.

I'll be looking out for the writeup on your car though! I'm increasing the number of cars featured in the Magazines where I've met or seen the cars themselves, both here and in the US! wink - means I can write up various bits for my forthcoming website blogs etc wink

Excellent work on your car once again and hats off for having the minerals to go out and be part of creating a product that's unique!

Cheers, Dennis!

Yeah.... the 7k is the headers..... the rest of exhaust is extra..... Thats the Euro price for left hookers anyway. They sell HEAPS of them to the US and rest of europe, they wanted the right hand drive headers so A) they could say they are the only company to mkake them! B) The australian and japonese market place is HUGE and thats where they figure the most of rhd sales will go!

This sounds impressive, would love to see it in the flesh, maybe one day it'll meet a s/c e39 m5 (as we're running smilar power). Enjoy the beast.
