I saw what looked like an unusual 1 series today in the car park at work. I managed to get a quick look during my lunch break and was suprised to see it was a M coupe. I guess from the number plate it is a BMW UK car so I assume it's either a dealer demo car or maybe a car that the press will be driving?

The car looks better than I thought close up and it seems to have a real presence, with the combination of the wheels, ride height and flared arches looking really good. The car was still in the car park when I left this evening so I managed to get some pics although with the poor light and rain they are not the best.

Wow... Looks good

It is a pretty poor attempt to hide what is blatantly the new 1M. smile

Will be VERY interesting to see quite how quick they are...???

I imagine so that the press can't use pictures that BMW haven't controlled.

Cheers! Gone for white. Black hides all the vents and bulges which are part of the cars 'presence' I think and although I suspect the orange colour WILL look good I just couldn't pluck up courage without seeing it. White is a good 'motorsport' colour and will look cool dirty too.

Will see what they look like when it arrives but may get the wheels changed to a grey/graphite colour.

Thanks for the insult pal. You've driven one I assume. With a mild (and cheap) tweak to near 400bhp I'll have a small, agile (for it's type) car that I suspect will be quicker than the current M3. It'll take me, g/f & luggage to the 'Ring and back in comfort, be great for doing the many miles learning the circuit - it'll even have loads of room for an instructor - that I intend to use it for and not be TOO disastrous should the worst happen. I suspect it'll be fun harying some bigger stuff at UK track days too.

Each to his own eh?

Irrespective of make and model, WTF is this obession with blacked out rear windows all about! There aren't the adjectives or expletives that do this 'style pack' addition justice.
Other than that, I'm looking forward to seeing one in the metal....

Taking a spare set of disks and pads too? Should have plenty of room.

Lol. Haven't seen standard spec of brakes yet but suspect they'll be usual BM rubbish. If so they'll go straight over nearest hedge and be replaced.

Lol Soovy. It's the predictability of it which annoys. No constructive arguement/comment just smart arse/unoriginal comment.

As for the spite and bile comments ....£45k IS ALOT of money....your list of justifiers is a good one - 400bhp, room, performance... and I'm just happy you're happy. thumbup

Someone please get an orange one, as there are only 450 for the UK it would be good to have a few that look a bit different!

I would have ordered an Orange one, and for all the very reasons that Pugsey is buying one thumbup

However, living in London, and the car being needed to perform additionally as an everyday commute, and having a slightly fecked left shoulder now, the lack of the DCT option means I'm having to make do with ordering a 135i instead of a 1M.
