Indeed. Yesterday my dealer told me that he had just had to turn an order away in that morning. Apparently all 450 cars now sold. In reality this will mean there are still a few available but they'll be cars already allocated to dealers - demo's and the like.
Probably a stupid question, but, what's in it for the dealer to run a demonstrator of a car that's not available to buy?
As I understand it, he commits to buying a demo from BMW - which in the fulness of time simply gives him a car to sell. Prob worth doing on a hard to get/easy to sell car.

I think not all the 450 cars have end customer names against them yet, so by selling them to the Dealer they can claim all are sold. All manufacturers engage in this practise.

My dealer friend has three coming in ( in each colour ) they have customer names on but two are definitely still available.

I've been to a few more dealers in the Surrey/London area but none admit to having any on site ( even with careful snooping on my part ) So VO at Barons is the only one I've spotted so far ( side entrance to the left of the building behind the used approved )
Thanks for the heads up. Fingers crossed.
Still really need to see black too.

Given you said....

.....It just didn't like the on/off power on full boost in second on the run up the mountains....

I'd wager that's exactly what it was..... hard running on boost in high ambient air temp creates excess intakes temps and oil temps causing the ECU to go into limp mode to avoid engine damage.
Oil temp needle didn't rise above 120 degree and OAT was about 18 degrees.

LOL @ Breadvan. - Can't wait to see the pics btw smile
I have a Z4 35iS (same engine as the 1M). After Ahem! "extended" but careful driving my Z4 holds up perfectly. No issues whatsoever. There is an extra oil cooler on the iS compared to the standard 35i N54 unit. Having said that I run it with the utmost of care.

Oil temp always remained around 120c mark. No HPFP issues either and I believe no 35iS has had an issue yet either (touch wood).

As for the 1M. Wife has been bartering between two dealers and last week ordered a VO.

The other dealer has not sold the one they have coming in and has had no other interested parties yet either.

That suggest the market is not as solid as they would have you believe - I suppose the same happened with the E46 CSL

Not so sure. I got a discount but I have bought A LOT of cars through the same dealer. I know someone else on here got a discount too but other than that everyone I've spoken to has been refused and discount point blank. As it happens I think full list for this car is a good price anyway and very limited run should help residuals - and that's before everyone starts raving about how good it is. As I've said before though I spec my cars for me not resale, do as many miles as I want and take the view 'what will be will be' re depreciation. if I couldn't afford it at this level I'd just move 'down' to the next level - say a Megane or Clio Cup - and do the same. Don't know how peeps can enjoy their cars if they worry about depreciation/trachdays/mileage.

I blame the internet, people have too much knowledge - that works against them enjoying their lives.

yes

A sales guy in one of the BMW dealers I was talking before ordering my 135i tried to put me off my colour choice, and he couldn't seem to understand I was buying a car for me, not for someone else....

Mark, hate to spanner the works but you really do need to see BSM. I saw mine today and loved it more than I thought I would (I went for black by default to keep muted for daily driver and client meeting). As you've had an inkling before for black, you may be supprised when you see it.

(Remember there's no bad colour, but if you like to keep you head down when hooning, black could be for you).

He tried to put you off your colour choice because he wants you to pick a colour that's easier for him to sell on come trade in time.

As for those asking if the wife got a discount. Well it was more a case of best price for the part exchange. No one was admiting to a discount as such but a £1500 better deal clinched it.

She actually started dealing with four dealers.

One sales guy from one dealer oddly refused to return her calls after initially speaking with her.

Another wouldn't move on price, leaving one dealer infront and the fourth dealer clinched the deal right at the end of the month after refuseing to budge earlier in the month.

Was a sweat to be fair.

Service inclusive.

BMW want £1000 for the 1M. My Z34iS was £300.

Same engine?????? Seems a right con or I have my facts wrong.

My order form shows £300...

But according to this link, it seems that the price you were quoted is correct: http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/servicepackages/0,,1312...

This dealer has it on for £400

http://www.waysidemiltonkeynesbmw.co.uk/aboutus/ow...

Dick Lovett in Bristol is £400 and another dealer local to me has confirmed £400. They said it was subsidised.

I got the 5 years service free deal that's doing the rounds at a lot of dealers at the moment with mine. Get this and £1000 or £400 really doesn't matter. Same deal automatically given to a mate who's buying a 1M from another dealer too.

Was at the BMW event at Oulton Park today where the 1M was due to be available... For some reason they didn't have the cars - real shame as I was looking forward to driving one.

One of the London dealers has arranged a 4-day test drive for me so will have one for a few days next wk... Hopefully an orange one as I'd like to see one in the flesh!

Does anyone know of any dealer in the north west that will have a 1M in Valencia Orange this weekend?
