Does anyone know of any dealer in the South or South East that will have a 1M in Black, White or preferably both today or this weekend?

Don't need test drive or get inside, just walkaround for colour choice.

Cheers,

Mark.

At what....?

That 1M has just about had every option box ticked, and lists at £46,775 and add in the BMW Gap/Smart ins which is a few quid under a grand, plus the Supraguard as well, which they charge enough for, and I'd say the price of £48,670 in the ad is going to be that cars invoice price or pretty close to it.......and therefore bugger all mark up.

I suppose you are right, if there are fools willing to put 8k of extras on a car like that then more fool them. As far as I'm concerned this is a drivers car, not a full fat 5 series and doesn't need to be loaded with stuff. Mine came to 41500 after a bit of haggling, just needed a couple of extras on mine :-)

Bit harsh. Fine if you have the luxury of running two "nice" cars, but if you want something you're going to keep for a few years, do the commute in (130 mile round trip in my case!) and have some fun in, I think luxuries are justified. Anyway, it's my money.... :-P

Stick what you like on it. Blimey, mine came to £44,500, does that make me half as foolish?

exactly. it's your car, why not put what YOU want in it...! you're the one who's going to enjoy it. you shouldn't spec a car like this based on resale value, spec it so you enjoy it!

That's why I went for a loaded 135i instead of a 1M, as living in London I wanted DCT for daily driving.

Ah, well, I'm going from a fully loaded (manual) 135i to a 1M - and I didn't fancy giving up any toys. Except front parking sensors, which you just can't have :-)

Came up behind a black one on the bottom section of the M1 this evening. It looked great and it was quick.

One of the London dealers has arranged a 4-day test drive for me so will have one for a few days next wk... Hopefully an orange one as I'd like to see one in the flesh!
Blimey. Well done.................
Must admit I thought it seemed a bit odd that they had one available to rent out...

Good luck to you - and enjoy. Go for exactly what you want it's your car and your money! Long since given up speccing my cars for the next owner or resale. Can't see why anyone would have a prob with 'over' speccing one of these (and PLEASE don't drivel on about weight like the GT3 guys do). Even if you throw everything at it it prob only adds the same as you having just had an Olympic Breakfast! And, even if you were bothered about such things the difference in performance (straight line or handling) won't be detectable.
