Love the csl and am considering buying one now that I have the funds, but I have a bad back, so I am considering a 1m as a softer alternative. Is this the way to go or is the csl not that bad? I will drive both before buying of course but just wanted an indication of ride quality.
Any advice greatly recieved.

I've slipped 2 discs, twice in 4 yrs - also 6 4".

CSL my only car. Admittedly not a daily but driven for extended periods across Europe with no probs.

1m Coupe seems to be ok on my back at 6 foot 4, make sure you get the lumbar support if you had a bad back!! I've been driving one off and on over the past few weeks and find it very comfortable plus an awesome car to drive!!!

I've had both and the 1M seems the more comfortable for everyday use...

I ended up buying a 1M and then adding the BMW Performance Seats (essentially a recaro sporter-CS with BMW branding).

Still feels slightly mor comfortable than the CSL, and helpful that the backrest is adjustable. Both great cars though.

Can honestly say I wish I had the dilemma of which of these cars to buy. Very jealous

I have a friend who seriously hurt his back in over in Iraq.
We had a journey south in mine (5hrs each way) and he recons it was better for him than his daily drive.
Says the fixed seat in the CSL held him in a better position.
