Hi all

I'm currently looking at CSLs. Seen a couple of 03 models with about 30k on the clock.
What do you think would be a fair price if these cars are in good nick? - Both have BM service history and warranty?

Thanks

MAnand

£32.5-£43k? Depends what needs doing and how soon, but I think that would be about the right level.

Depends on the car you're offering it on.

If the car has had necessary clutch replacements/software upgrades, very regular oil changes, no immediate wheel bearing/diff problems, proper wheels with cups in decent condition, and recent bush changes, oh, and the brakes. AP's will give you an idea if the car has been tracked and in my experience most owners who use for the reason it was built maintain it money no object... I do.

So if most of the above checks out its worth 31-33k IMO

How can I tell if there are 'wheel bearing/diff problems'?

What are the 'necessary' clutch replacements ? Never needed one in mine 3 and a half years old now.

The buying guide briefly covers the issues i mentioned. I can expand on my issues if that isn't enough.

No mention of a 'necessary' clutch replacement.

I'm on my second clutch, car used for track and weekend only. In my experience nearly all CSL owners experience clutch problems, most people seem to have a small window of zero slipping then....

Depends on condition, but also on Aircon.

With aircon @£32k
Without - @£1,000 less, but i'd steer clear unless you plan keeping long term. Resale = nightmare

CSL's without aircon are worth way less than £1k off. You're probably talking more like £3k - £4k off.

Anyway, back to the car in hand ... I'd say £32,500 if you're advertising it and let it go for £30k - £31k ... depending how quick you want to sell. I'm keeping my eye on values as I'll be ready to buy in a couple of months.

agreed no air-con seems to be a real killer for values

So what is my friend's CSL worth?

Every option possible, mint, one owner, silver, 9000 miles.
