By sports car standards the RS4 is a gentleman's express.
Powerful but lardy.

You can't really do much to make a CSL any quicker than standard - around 10-20bhp tops is about it without resorting to forced induction. The RS4 seemed slower than I expected though, since both cars share very similar 0-120mph times of approx 16 seconds.

I don't think mine would stay with a 996 twin turbo Dude.

Would it?

RS4 Avant 1710Kg 420bhp = 246 bhp/ton
CSL 1425Kg 360bhp = 252 bhp/ton

6bhp/ton makes a lot of difference !
plus the gearchange would be much faster in the CSL yes

Not covinced. I reckon its faked. Look at ther first run. the RS4 is hauling in the CSL and the video is cut then it switches back with th CSL 15 yds ahead.
Maybe I'm being cinical but if you look at any independent tests there's nothing in it or the RS4 has the edge so its highly suspect at best!

Is that how much an RS4 weighs - cross that off the shopping list then.

IIRC EVO weighed one and it was only 30/40 kg lighter than an M6 and certainly quite a bit more than Audi originally claimed.

I went to the Midlands meet tonight with a 996 turbo, as it happens!

Not trying to do anything, Dude, i think 450 bhp and 4wd might just give my car a problem or three!

Just being honest here.

Some people on the RS4 forum have apparently been dyno'd at 365bhp rather than the 420 claimed, guess the one in the vid could be a sick one as the 0-100 times are very similar with the RS4 just edging it, I don't think the CSL should pull away quite that much, even from a rolling start.
