AP vs MOVIT brakes?

I am looking to swap from original to either of them and like to hear pro's and cons, should anyone have gone this route previously.
I am going to do both front and back.
I am taking into account both cost and performance.

Can't comment on MOVIT but am very happy with the AP fronts I have, RS29 pads all round and brake fade is a thing of the past. Best money you can spend on a CSL IMO.

have just had the full AP 6 pot front, 4 pot rear and slotted discs fitted on the Z4M. very pleased. fine for day to day use. have never heard of Movit apart from on EVO mag's mustang, whereas AP is a well established brand

didnt MOVIT used to make brakes for porsche, the 996 turbo ?

i know a few of the EVO boys used to run MOVIT brakes at teh ring and by all accounts they were incredible, better than the equivalent AP mod at the time

from what ive read MOVIT have an amazing reputation

Think they were made by brembo. Pads by textar.

i think movit basically are porsche brakes but made for other cars other than porsches
sometimes they will be brembo calipers but they have been made to spec by posche and tested by porsche

Patrik you do not need to change the rears. The rears (certainly with AP) generate the same pedal pressure and use the same surface area as OEM. I have run 6-pot APs on my CSL for over 3 years now, but just on the front and they have borne the brunt of dozens of laps at Spa with impunity. Just make sure the rear pads are upgraded as per fronts to something like the Pagid RS-19s or RS-29s that most of us use.

Also bear in mind that Brembo owns AP Racing, and that AP are the most successful manufacturer of racing braking systems in the world IIRC. It's therefore a mute point which is best, but one thing to bear in mind was (is?) that AP are considerably cheaper. There are also (probably) many more successful installations of AP brakes on CSLs, certainly within the UK customer forums so we can only really speak from experience.
