A week into my mx-5 ownership, enjoying it so far and took into a specialist at the weekend. Bought it for 1k as fun runaround til I decide what I want next year.

Found out, rear spring needs replacing, dust covers and handbrake cable needs sorting. Fixed the electric window while I was there and mechnically its fine. No rust/sills are fine, could have been alot worse.

Just looking at parts, seems cheap enough to do.

A few questions

Wheres best place to buy cheap parts from? Looked at mx5parts so far.
Paintwork is not great, whats the paint code on a silver eunos?
Found out this morning the softtop is leaking on the passenger side, any fixes for this?

Thanks

Suggestions can be found in this link:

Jack Smith Trimmers in Swansea is one of the best and cheapest maker and fitter of mohair hoods - may still be cheaper if you factor in the petrol for the round trip.

Another suggestion for spare parts is MX5Heaven, who are not listed on there.

This may help with the naming of your colour, although it is an American site so they sometimes do have different names.
