Mk1 Idea exhaust for performance, but.....track day friendly,

Apparently I've blown the baffels on my exhaust so affect db and performance. Can anybody recommend a exhaust good for sound / performance and db so ok for trackdays?

A friend has got a Klarius but I think on the limit noise wise

Unlikely to be anywhere near the noise limits unless you have also replaced the rest of the exhaust system already. Mine barely makes it over 90db.

i got an MX5Parts on mine J, coupled with a decat pile all in for £250.

i love the sound, cos im an old aged hooligan, but its not too obtrusive when cruising the motorways. Last outing at cadwell i recorded 93dB.

not sure it gave any more performance but it wakes up stiffs down here on "Failing Island"laugh

Thank you,

So you ordered and got fitted locally, or got them to deliver to local garage

I like the sound of my Cobalt from Moss Europe, a nice extra rasp but not too intrusive. The MX5 Parts one is always recommended as well, I think it may be slightly noisier though from general reviews. Both can occasionally be had for bargain money on special offer weekends etc.

theyre only 20 minutes from me so i was straight in there and out with a boxfull of bits, my friendly local relieved me of £20 to fit it all up. Not worth me getting dirty for that

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcFOHXaWIHQ&li... bit of vid from Cadwell with the camera on the (squeeky) bootlid, exhaust side,

tis an awesome car, pretty much as i bought it a couple of years ago,
Koni adjustable coilovers, strut brace incorporating the brake master brace, and a Mazdaspeed roll over.
performance wise, stock 1.6 with a K&N, decat and that exhaustlick
LSD and T1R's keeping it on the road.

just aquired another one with a bit more power, well, twice as much powerrotate so this really has to go if you know anyone looking for a well sorted track ready road carthumbup

I have a jackson racing 4-2-1 manifold, 440mm cat and cobalt backbox and i made 89db at bedford the other month which was well within the noise limit. For comparison my friends standard 2009 BMW M3 made 89db also.

Mines supercharged with overlay and smaller pulley also. Probably more noise coming from the engine bay these days biggrin

Picked it up from Brighton last night J, and had a spirited ride home! A well sorted car ready for the track. Difference in power from standard is like night & day.
Im away this weekend but may be in your area the following Saturday if your about, drop me a PM and we can get you into itthumbup

Back to the original topic, this one has a Magnaflow on it which is a bit tame compared to the MX5Parts zaust. Ill put the de-cat pipe on in the morning to see if that wakes it up any, laugh

I've got a cat-back system made by Racing Beat. Top quality and sound and fitted perfectly.
