Hi,

Got a 1994 MK1 Eunos, bought some bucket seats and fine fitting the seats, main issue is that with the current stalk being attached to the actual seat, not sure what to do when changing.

I've read that there is likely a captive bolt behind the carper but can't read anything definitive on whether this can be used with existing stalk or whether i need to buy a longer one?

Any input appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

You can get an early Mk1 stalk. These attach to the tunnel and are long enough to get around the standard seat. Possibly not around a bucket though, depending on the design. You could use seat runners from a Mk2, these have the stalk attached to the runners which works better than on the tunnel.

I had the same issues on my 97 Mk1 when i dropped in some kevlar recaros recently. Seatbelt is bolted to the rails and the seats had their own special rails that couldnt be swapped.

Got a set of the long stalk buckles and bolted them into the holes at the rear of the transmission tunnel. They work a treat other than when the seats move backwards and forwards you need to remember to feed it around the side else it stops the seats moving.

Cost me about £15 for the pair from suffolk mazda (breakers).

Cheers

Nice one thanks for that...

Is it one of these - http://www.mx5heaven.co.uk/acatalog/MX5_Seatbelt_S... ? Says for 1.6 but guessing that doesn't matter... also not sure if the connector will cause a problem?

No worries, got them ordered and drivers side fitted, does leave a light on dash so will look into how to sort that before MOT time just in case.

Annoyingly the bucket doesn't fit the base which I'd read it would so now need to sort a plate or something...
