Mk 3 Owners - stiff 6 speed gearbox?
Discussion
Decent oil and Molyslip...swear by it in boxes and have been using it for over 25years and in the trade..those who doubt it have never tried it.
My Mk3 had new good oil...not much difference...Moly in and as normal hundred miles or so ....different box amd from cold.

Hi, My Mk3 sport was exactly the same when I got it, had to almost push the clutch pedal through the floor to get a decent change from cold.. after reading few forums, I tried manually adjusting the biting point, and it made a world of difference! it's just a question of loosening a locking bolt, turning the adjuster a couple of turns, tighten the bolt again... deffo worth a try!

Thanks - I did mention that in my first post - looks like you're the only one brave enough to try it so far Good to know it works.http://www.miata.net/garage/adjust_clutch/index.ht...
I think the 6 speed box in the mk3 is the same box as that in the Mazda MPS.
If you do a search on mpsowners.co.uk you will find lots of debate about which oil to use. It does make a difference, but when cold the box is stiff and notchy and 1st / 2nd can be a pain.
There is a well known mod to adjust the clutch biting point on the 6 MPS, but I have no idea whether or not it is applicable for the MX5
