Do you think a Mazda MX-5 NC is girly?

I was personally thinking about black. That seems to be a pretty good colour for th NC. Main reason being is that you can't see the "mouth" (the happy grill) as good. Also 17" rims and a few cms of lowering will be nice as you said.

Here's what 10k of many, many mods gets you ! New nose was installed at Christmas as I never liked the "fish mouth". No real engine mods only better air filter and race exhaust. Would have gone the supercharger route but the engine is pre 08 so wouldn't have taken it ! It will match most "sporty" machines on B roads driven well. Suspension and set-up is key though !
Let me know what you think ?
Are those Team Dynamics 2.1 alloys ? I had a gold set on my Lotus and was thinking about doing same with my NC. Let me know what you think ?

I don't think the car itself is, although it has definitely got that stigma attached to it. I personally think the NA is the "only one" worth considering. Although I fully appreciate that I wouldn't want it as my only car. An NC? That would comfortably be my only car (although I'd miss my pickup and by extension the friends it has made me, "Hey Alfie, I've just bought a bed...").
Frankly, buy the car you want. No matter what you drive you're going to have various people thinking your an arse. If you like the way they drive, are happy with the practicalities of it, then go for it.

Here is my 200bhp BBR tuned one...looks proper with subtle lowering and lower offset wheels to remove the 'tucked in' look...
Probably is still seen a bit girly by some folk but I don't care at all.
That looks great! What offset are the wheels? I'm currently looking to change my standard ones but don't fancy rolling the archesProbably is still seen a bit girly by some folk but I don't care at all.

The posts on this are about three years old. Not sure exactly what Wills offsets are but I think it's around 45 offset which is fine with standard sized tyres (pretty sure you can go 215/45/17) with that offset as well. You might be able to find out more about his car on MX5Nutz, he has a massive thread on there as he modified the car over time
OP I’m assuming your a young man and worried what your pals will think.
So this is what will happen.
1. You will buy it and love it
2. Some friends of yours will take piss (this is called jealousy)
3. Some will say this / that’s faster ( this is called not getting the fun of driving a good car)
4. You will be upset and feel you made wrong decision
5. You will mod it learn to love it and get over the comments
6. You will learn that the world is full of pricks and not to be concerned by others comments
7. fk em
By the way I have a swift sport and a mr2 mk3 I win the girly car competition lol ( and I love em)
Happy mx 5 hunting.

Yup those are XXRs, that car is Greek I think I remember seeing it on the NC Wheels thread on miata.net.
Does anyone know of good places to sell wheels or best just to try various owners club sites?
Minor plug here, but I need new tyres this year and I realise it was a mistake now to get 235/40s seeing as I've never been on a track (like the one above, that looks like 245s on 9" to me), these were 4 years old when 'new' so now long overdue changing.
Having looked around I'm not sure what I'm going to replace them with that isn't going to be old of the shelf too (seeing mostly Conti SC5 and Hankook K120).
I have some Wedsport TC105N 17x9 I want to get shot of so I can change to 215/45, I'm guessing they might still have a decent value as they're the right offset for square setup on an S2000 and others. One has a scraped/chipped rim but probably useful to many for track use as they weigh nothing.

Mx5nutz Facebook page. They have a dedicated buy and sell page. I’m sure the mx5nutz website has been slowly dying away. Does anyone know of good places to sell wheels or best just to try various owners club sites?
