OK it's been 4 years since I sold my mk2.5 Montana and I am yearning after another MX5!

I am going to see an early Mk3 model tomorrow, 2.0 Sport, very low mileage, decent service history, etc.

What should I be looking out for?

I will check the rear arches, bootlid for rust, have a good look underneath. Check behind the seats for damp, ensure oil is topped up, etc.

Anything else specific I should check out?

If it's as good as he says it is it may be a foregone conclusion smile

Already been pricing up H&R 40mm springs with uprated front and rear ARBs, etc. And so it begins again!

Make sure the heated seats work.

Good luck with your search, plenty out there - loving mine...as is my dad, brother, mum, etc, etc...

I love mine. I'd perhaps add going for as high a spec as poss. Mine has the heated leather seats, aircon etc and to be honest its been quicker to warm up than my Mazda 3 this winter. Check for worn carpet perhaps - mine has a hole in the front drivers footwell where the lady previous owner wore heels. Never see it under the rubber mat though. smile

Tyres, when I got mine I ended up with a list of two cars to choose from. This was in part to low mileage and full service history but I also made sure it had decent matching tyres on all four corners. Sometimes this gets overlooked but you are saving yourself £400+ when you purchase one with good tyres on.
