Now the insurance is sorted, got a to fix a little rainwater leak that's started over the last couple of months.

Getting drips into the passenger footwell right by the fuse holder (which a bit worrying tbh).

Have checked all the seals/trims but all seems ok. Any ideas folks??

Windscreen surround? Down by the bottom of the A-pillar behind the rubber trim?

Yup.

Done some internet searching and it all points to the screws which hold down the wiper mouldings letting water by, seems common(ish).

So need to get the scuttle panel off and replace the washers which must have just perished over time - apparently not too bad a job, just time consuming.

Giving her a full service this weekend, so probably next weekend's job tbh.

When you take the scuttle panel off use the finest pick you can get or a very fine bladed screw driver to gently remove the screw caps. I've replaced no end of screens in MX5's that some rough bd has just rammed whatever they had into them to remove them, it chews them up and they look horrible afterwards.

I was wondering how easy they would come out - may end up just ordering new, can't be too much ££.

Had the same issue with mine ( 3.5 ) 10 plate. Took wipers & scuttle tray off, the plastic captive seals were leaking, crappy foam seal on them. Just resealed them. Been fine since. ☺

They come out ok, you just have to be gentle with them so you don't mark the scuttle as well.
