Advice on best please folks.

Gave the car a full fluids service on Saturday - engine, 'box, diff - fixed a few niggles and inspected as much as possible.

Anyway, discs seem fine, rear pads plenty of life left but the front pads are LOW, lower than I thought tbh!!

So, do most people replace with OEM or change/upgrade for something better?? The brembo pads seem good value and have used their stuff before with good results.

They look like an easy change, correct??

Thanks all.

Couldn't be easier to do.

I for one, won't be using EBC Yellow Stuff again after the pad material parted company with the backing plate on a track day at Cadwell Park.
Currently using Roddison's, but Brembo and Pagid are perfectly fine IMO

I haven't heard of that problem with EBC Yellows before. They always seemed to be the one product in the EBC range that actually worked! I'll never touch Greenstuff again after previous experiences for example.

EBC to have suffered the same fate as many good names............the bean counters decide something is too expensive to make and more profit can be had by lowering quality.

I used to use greenstuff on track and after they cracked and fell apart I give their entire range a miss.

I run Mintex 1144 (equivalent) in the fronts and EBC yellow stuff in the rears. Good for track and road provided you have black or graffite coloured rims.......................... They look dirty very quickly !

Interesting comments on the EBCs - I've been using yellowstuff on my NC for 2 1/2 years on road and track, and they have been excellent - superb braking power, and no sign of fade, even after extended sessions on track. I have heard criticism of them previously, but I think that was mainly focussed around an older formulation of pad - certainly my experience has been very positive - the only negative in my eyes has been that they are very dusty, but then I think that's true of most uprated pads.

I have heard many good things about Rodders pads though, so may give them ago next time I visit Paul for an alignment check...

Greens have a terrible reputation. They are not track pads though - fast road at best. Even on the road they tend to either crumble or eat the discs (I've had both these problems and there are plenty of similar accounts to be found online).
Yellows always seemed to be the exception though. I've used them a couple of times and other than a slightly numb pedal they have always worked ok. Axxis ULT are my favourites but are very hard to find for the big Sport brakes. I'm currently using Stoptech which some say are the same thing but they don't feel the same to me.

I've just replaced my Yellow Stuff pads after 7K miles and half a day at Bedford Autodrome. I found them to have great performance in all occasions but I'm disappointed in the pad life and they used much more of the rotors than I would have liked.

In all honesty I reckon about the same level of performance as Red Stuff but half the pad life.
I won't be buying EBC again that's for sure.

I replaced with OEM as I needed them quickly as the noise was so bad but I plan to upgrade to Pagid or something similar.
