This was leaked onto my Facebook feed a few weeks ago by Mazda Spain where it was very swiftly deleted. I'm guessing someone down there pushed the button a little too quickly.
Soul Red or Ceramic Metallic, black splitter, black small sill extensions, black small rear spoiler, diamond cut "windmill alloys," (as seen on the Goodwood stand car.), Recaro leather and suede seats, suede across the dash, apart from that standard Sport Nav 2.0.
Not sure. The seats look great but a special colour would have been nice.

Not pleased with my Sport Nav. Clutch has developed an intermittent 'clunkiness' when warm that is simply not right, but not sure if it's the gearbox rather than the clutch, as it doesn't happen when you operate the clutch in neutral.
Going to be looked at in a couple of weeks as that's the first time a courtesy car is available.

Unfortunate about the clutch. Please keep us posted.
I'm just reaching 960 miles on the clock and I've hit 5000rpm a couple of times now (probably being too cautious). What are people's opinions on getting an oil change?
A performance car specialist inspected the car yesterday and he thinks it's backlash in the drive train behind the clutch rather than a clutch problem. Interestingly, another Mk4 MX-5 I was in today had the same noise when reversing after the clutch had been let out a 2nd time in reverse. Wiki definition of backlash refers to backlash in reverse being 'unavoidable' in general, so this may be acceptable in reverse.I'm just reaching 960 miles on the clock and I've hit 5000rpm a couple of times now (probably being too cautious). However, my MX-5 exhibits backlash (if we assume it's this - it's the same noise) travelling in the forward gears, even more worryingly intermittently at the same temperature which cannot be anything other than a fault. Anyone else experiencing backlash when changing forward gears? Am I the first of the new MX-5 owners to experience this, or, which is much less likely, is this a generic design problem resulting from Mazda building the cars too early?
Interesting.

Hi JulianGoing to be looked at in a couple of weeks as that's the first time a courtesy car is available.
one of my friends brought this to my intention. My car does do the exact same however Id say It's no issue at all, as mentioned it comes across as backlash even in forward gears. My S2000 and the GT86s at work do it as well.
I think it's essentially free play before a mechanism engages or amount of space in each tooth.

I've googled it myself as was keen to hear what it sounded like but struggled to find anything consistent or a specific issue

OK I've done some sums and man-maths have come to the fore and I've decided that it's time for a new car again!
Trying to get a test drive in a 2.0l Sport so I can have a decent comparison but I'm quite keen on the Recaro in the Ceramic White and also dropping a line to the chaps from BBR about their 190 package (and also about rumours that they're not far off from a 200 BHP package to be released early this year).
For a laugh did a quote on Webuyanycar for my NA - £75! Think I'll be seeing what I can get for it privately!

It's better than WBAC!
Test drive achieved this morning and deposit placed for an early March Delivery. Recaro ltd edition in Ceramic white.
My fears over the 2 litre suspension were unfounded as, in comparison to my NA it's really good. There is an odd jiggling from it though which must be what the road testers from PH noticed so I'll definitely be talking to BBR about their 190 package including their springs.
Very excited!

So I thought I did the smart thing by buying a non Nav car to save myself £600 (bloddy rip off!) Why would I need it I have a TomTom, OK its old and the maps a bit out of date but it does the job. So in the dark tonight I start groping around for the cigarette lighter to plug in said Tomtom. FUUUKKK!!! WhereTF is it!! I can't believe I didn't spot that in the run up to buying it
Plenty of gadgets on ebay to convert cig lighter to USB port but not the other way round, well why would there be that's like going from digital to analogue So do I need to go one stage further back still in the evolutionary chain and buy a road atlas or is there a way to get power to my OLD trusty nav?

I only recently saw one in the flesh, parked up. Looks nicer than in the pics or videos. Then 1 came towards me hurtling round a corner in a country lane near me last week and I have to say - gorgeous. What a striking looking car! Although I could trade in my Focus and Mk3 and still not be able to afford one at the moment. Maybe in a couple of years.
