Was that the set up for sale on the Facebook page? I'll be interested in hearing your views once fitted as I'm considering them along with grease nipples...

I've just agreed a deal (and it is a deal) on wishbones, steering rack and lights from a car being broken.

Lights will be painted then fitted (current ones covered in micro crazing), wishbones will be refurbished and rack depowered in prep for engine swap. First bits for the project after having to mess about getting head gasket and water pump sorted (oh, and rust removed).

Bloody thing. Bought as a project as putting 30k a year on my K series GTM seemed mental, then the 'uber reliable' Mazda has broken down twice!

Moss have got a really good sale on for bits at the moment, got the bushes from them 90 pounds cheaper than normal. Going to strip all the wishbones down and fit the new bushes ready for them to go back on with a set of Meisters and an alignment. I'll report back once I've finally done it all.

After two months of hassle, expense and broken promises, I received a coilpack from Autolink today, fitted it after work and she runs! New plugs were fitted earlier this week.

Bit of smoke on startup, but counting on that being due to being sat for a while and engine being cold.

Recommendations for bulbs for the nb? Drive 50 miles on cross country A & B roads for my commute, and current bulbs are candle powered...

It's currently getting the cylinders bored out a little and also a little skim off the head for it's new Supertech pistons. It needed new piston rings and was eating oil so I thought I might as well get a few extra horsies out of it.

Took the winter cover off, unplugged the battery maintainer, checked the tyres pressures, fired her up and went for a drive smile

ToDo list for this year:

new windscreen washer pump
new hood
steering wheel spacer or quick release hub (undecided which way to go) The Nardi Classic wheel is exactly what I want but it's got almost no dish so is a little close to the control stalks
Finish refurbing the second set of wheels and get some track rubber on

Go hillclimbing and sprinting!

MX5Restorer have had Lewis for nearly three weeks now. They've cured the overheating - a mixture of a duff thermostat and a duff gauge - and the leaky rear hose. Next up are new CV joint sleeves, decat and new rear exhaust section, then an MOT. Then Gaz Golds and a fast-road alignment: finally, the super-slow lecky windows to be sorted. Then, nearly a year after purchase, we can start to think about bodywork...

A fresh MOT with no advisories!

Not bad for a 25 year old lady.

Just spent a wodge at Ultimate Finish, giving the kiss of death to any decent weather for a month at least!

Hoping to spend the whole of next weekend cleaning, polishing and sealing. Half the car has been freshly painted so it should come up lovely.

New back box or muffler as the US would say as this "badboy" seems to come from the US of A.

I got it cause I keep adding weight. First a turbo and now a Quaife lsd. All kg. So I thought I would get some back by putting on this small back box.

Those are american stones and pounds which makes it 12kg v 4kg whilst we are still in the EEU.

New wheels biggrin

I went through to Skidz in Falkirk to get the tyres fitted yesterday, decided on 195/60/14 Vredestein Sportrac 5 and really glad I went for the slightly wider tyre and bigger sidewall - I love the retro balloon tyre look.

The wheels look ace, I gave them a coating of G-Techniq C5 before fitting. The only slight issue is the balancing weights are just skimming the brake callipers (running 1.8 brakes) so I need to take a wee bit off them to stop this.

Makes a massive change to the car and I am completely chuffed with how she looks now.

Just ordered some new silicon heater/coolant hoses after hearing a wet, hissing noise from the engine bay after a spirited drive today

Looks like the intake on the supercharger is fouling the heater hose JUST enough that it's bending it over the metal pipe and has rubbed through on that corner
