Serviced the fuel injectors ( stripped and cleaned in the ultrasonic cleaner, new basket filters, new seals, seats and dust seals)
refitted and reassembled the intake and got her started up again. No leaks this time, so it looks like the overhaul kit has worked

It also looks like the misfire has gone, but I'll take her for a drive tomorrow to see if it's properly cured.

...and gave her a wash.

Electric Window motor
tcut and polish. (NOBODY waste their money on Halfords 12v polisher...)
Now the tree sap and oxidisation is gone, it's beautifully shiny, but I appear to have bought a car with at least 3 different shades of red...frown

Fabric around rear window zip tore just in time for the downpour today... Need a new hood now!! And frame...
Any one make a recommendation on vinyl v mohair... Glass window v plastic...
Happily it sailed through its mot though.

I'm about to treat my 2006 MX5 sport to a full service, MoT, a session with Wheels in Motion and BBR 200 kit.

Had a bit of a catastrophic weekend resulting in a holed oil-cooler, so while I'm waiting for parts to arrive, I've decided to swap over the supercharger pulley for my 17% reduction pulley in prep for my remap on the dyno next week (hopefully everything arrives and is fitted in time!) So today I've been attacking the old pulley with a dremel as the puller is just bending it.

But while I'm out there, I've just fitted my latest ebay purchase, an original Nardi wheel, to replace the replica one I had fitted.

That's very nice.

A productive week for mine.

A full under-seal and cavity treatment along with a new set of wheels. After searching long and hard for a set of (now discontinued) Buddy Club P1 Race in 16x7 ET35, a set finally popped up only a few miles away.

New dash bulbs (suprisingly easy to do)

Stripped out the guts of the electric aerial, knackered, so sourced a good secondhand one. Just got to fit it.

New vinyl roof and frame, replaced leaking rear springs and dampers and replaced awful style bar with mk2 brace. All done @ everythingmx5.com. Highly recommended.
Now I have a leak proof car that for the first time handles like it should😀
Enough spending for now..

Insurance!

Been off the road for nearly a month as I needed to transfer the insurance from it to my new daily. Got it on a classic policy for less than £200 for the year!

Fitted my 17% reduction pulley on the supercharger. Not an insignificant task considering how well attached the stock pulley was!

Also fitted a new oil cooler which required fabricating some brackets, as I had a leak in the old oil-cooler (watch out kids, heavy tools can damage oil coolers if not careful)

I THINK that's her ready for the remap on Tuesday!

Considering the significant increase in boost, I'm loathe to drive her too much prior to the remap, I have switched the ECU to a closed-loop map and might set it to adaptive in the meantime to try and correct for the different a/f ratio, but I'll just keep her quiet till it's done properly.

If you are talking about the cabin brace behind the seats then its a Mk1 1.8 cabin brace. Mk2 has a stiffer chassis so doesn't need one.

Fitted the second-hand aerial, only opened two sections, grrrrrr, then realised it was gunked up, but of lurpak and sorted.

Cleaned the connections on the o/s door switch so now the interior light comes on.....and so does the lights buzzer so when SWMBO leaves the lights on there is no need for the AA again.

Fitted new plates, surprising what difference a simple thing like that makes.

Just back from getting the car remapped at Emerald after fitting the reduction pulley on the blower

Looks like she's putting out about 225bhp now

I'm happy with that! (for now?)
