Do you have the link? The one I found is in America.
He's on Facebook - search junkyard dog mx5 and there's a recent post on the Mx5nutz page which he's tagged in. His name is John Turner, and he has a bloody brilliant reputation. Supplied me a few bits very swiftly and exactly as described.

How tall are you? Build?

John (junkyard dog) is a legend. He's kept me my race and road cars going ever since I've been into 5s. I've bought all sorts from random bits of trim right up to 6-speed gearboxes and differentials off him.

You can contact him on Nutz or Mighty 5s (Junkyard Dog is is username on both).

If you have his contact details that would be awesome. I'll have a search now too.

I'm 5'11" average build.

Check out my nuts...

IMG_6038 by s_worksair, on Flickr

As you can see the standard MX5 nuts end up buried deep in the holes of my new wheels. I can just about fit a spark plug socket in there but I have to tap it on and removing it is a pain. Should I have used an extra long set of nuts? Does something like this exist? If so who sells them? I've only fitted one wheel so far as I wanted your views...

Also is there something available to cover up that hole in the middle?

Thanks!

Did the wheels not come with centre caps they normally do and sometimes nuts if special ones are required ? I would check with the supplier and look in all the boxes!

Update on the seat situation. The seller sent a courier the same day I complained. Today I received a full refund. So they have dealt with this as swiftly as possible. In light of this, perhaps it was a genuine honest mistake after all? I still have no idea, but at least it is now dealt with and their customer care was better than their adverts or pre post inspection. I still have no idea why a leather trimmers would have vinyl on site, but there you are. Done and dusted.

My car has been booked into Scuzzle for quite some time now. I only phoned them up today to sort out about getting my car dropped off. I was just told the dampers have not arrived and will not be here any time soon as Meister don't even have any. Great! I had a trip planned with my little girl, so I needed this all fitted on the 11th this week. Thanks Meister!

So I now wish to use another company. Please help me decide what to go for - I only have to today to sort this out! My requirements:

1. Has to be comfortable over day to day bumps on the road.
2. Will be used for road use 99% of the time.
3. I want it lower than standard but not slammed to the deck!

Budget £750 max.

Thanks!!

Gaz gold pro. Should be in stock, excellent support, and I really like mine...

Some advantages compared to Meisters, some disadvantages. Overall I'd say they come out about even.

Both give great support. Jerrick from meister is a regular on the forums, but Gaz are at the end of the phone.

GGPs have superb corrosion resistance, easy and cheap to get refurbed when necessary.

Meister separate ride height and preload, which is bloody great if you're dropping to the floor. Adjustment seems to be more consistent and predictable (but that's an impression, not backed up).

I've got GGPs and like them. 40 odd mm drop from stock and they're great. Have driven Meisters and liked them (and know people who swear by them), and may well get a set just to give them a full comparison.

Ok thanks. I've asked Scuzzle to see if they can get GGP in time...

As promised, pics from the roof I had fitted at Jack Smith's in Swansea.

Extremely pleased with the end result, dropped off at 9:30 and collected just before 13:00. He even cleaned out the drain holes too, he is a really nice guy.

Edited: Autocorrelation is drunk.

Very nice Ricky. Although the angle of the sun / shadow probably isn't making it look at its very best. #fussygit hehe

What was the total price in the end?

Can he fit an electric window heating switch too?

Haha, it was an impromptu pic on the way out of Screwfix!

It was £290 all in. I doubt he'd be able to fit a switch, although I'd imagine the wiring is there. Going through the history of my car, the unzippable glass, heated screen was aftermarket.

But the switch and wiring looks OEM, even has a light that illuminates on the clocks when it is on (small square to the left of the clocks). So I'd imagine most of it is there already.

They do improve with a few weeks on them - I believe they're deliberately a little small so they stretch into the ideal fit.

Ricky - have you got to leave the roof up for a while? Can see your old roof was borked but I'd always planned to get mine done in the winter!
