Cheapest decent coilovers (for track use)?

Looking for some coilovers to replace the standard suspension currently fitted to my mk1. It's mostly used as a track car, so performance on track is the priority for me.
I'm starting to feel like I'm at the limit of their capabilities. Their softness was particularly evident at Castle Combe last Thursday (youtube link).
While I've heard very, ermm, mixed reviews of cheapo ebay coilovers, I'm also loathed to spend £560 for a set of HSDs or similar.
Is there anything that will be good enough on track but priced somewhere between the two?

Ha you think £560 is expensive! Really? Blimey, £3k is expensive, HSD are cheapo stuff really.
On the budget side, on non mx5s I've found BC racing good for cheaps.
Lots of mx5 Raving ref Meister R, never tried em but worth a look I'd say.
On the real budget side pal fitted AP coilovers as needed TuV approved on his e36 & he rated them, no experience personally tho.
Used might be best to look for, I sold an almost unused set of H&R (non mx5) in classifieds for approx half new price, heck of a bargain.
