Hi there

As the title really guys. Do any MX5 seats tilt forward? I'm looking for seats to use in my BMW project car and they need to tilt forward enough to allow passengers in the rear, and I love the look of some of the seats that come in the little Mazda!

I suspect I already know the answer, bit though gut is ask anyway

Cheers in advance

mk1 seats certainly do, spring loaded back released by a little lever on the seat side.

I've had mk2.5 and mk3 - seats tilted forward on both!

Cheers for the replies

So you reckon they'd tilt far enough forward for rear passengers? That is great to know. A pal of mine did say they tilted forward because of a storage area behind the seats, but couldn't confirm how far forward

I never found MX5 seats to be great - certainly not compared with BMW sport seats.

I'd love some E30 Recaros, I think these will do. They'll certainly be better than the standard seats, that's for sure!

Even mk3 seats tilt forward but there is no way you're going to be getting passengers in the back.

He's not planning on putting people in the back of an MX5 wink

Forgive me but "rear passengers" might be considered unambiguous. smile

Edit: dogs?

Sorry for the confusion, but I was looking at MX5 seats for my BMW 2002 project, so they would need to tilt enough for my kids to get in the back.

They do a bit but not enough for what you want. Mk1/2/2.5 seats have very little support around the shoulders so aren't the best choice anyway. Mk3 seats are much better but I don't think they will tip forward enough.

Seats that allow rear entry nono for passengers slide as well as tilt.
Tilting on its own isn't enough.

MK1 seats are superb providing you de-foam them a bit, I don't like them at all without this mod having been done. With this done they're proper little bucket seats that hold you nice and tight smile

They still have no shoulder support.

I don't recall ever wishing my shoulders had more support, maybe you just have weedy shoulders hehe
