Dennis, has yours been lowered? It looks like it's got an arch gap the same as mine, yet I seem to recall pictures of you working on it..

You know it makes sense! I filled the holes in mine with araldite (the closest thing to hand at the time!) and tidied it up with the touch up pen.

Its Barrrrrppping incredibly well at the minute (touch wood). I haven't done a thing to it, for fear of trying to fix something that isn't broken. The funny noise from the sticky caliper/diff/pads or whatever it was has gone away on its own.
I've got a roll bar coming next monday, i liked the look of the hard dog deuce, but couldn't justify the hundreds of pounds (£300 odd i think), However i found a look-a-like bar on ebay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MAZDA-MX5-ROLL-BAR_W0QQitemZ...
Cost me £80 + £20 delivery - bargain i thought. I'm going on my first run with the MX5 OC on sunday too.

I agree that looks like a bargain. Quite tempted myself

If you look on the sellers feedback history, you can see how cheap he has sold them for in the past (wish i'd seen this before). You could probably get it even cheaper than that.
However, even though it says 3 available, and 1-2 days delivery FROM DISPATCH, it appears they are made and painted before dispatch, i paid for mine over a week ago, and its not available for delivery until towards the end of next week! I'm working away next week, so i'll have to wait until the 5th, after the bank holiday. Humph! irked

Hmmm, not convinced by that bar to be honest frown It looks like a sturdy enough construction alright but the fact it fixes to the rear shelf rather than the chassis would be a concern for me if the worst were to happen. Looks like the support struts would punch through the parcel shelf under stress?

I see their other design has rather more substantial fixings http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am...

Yeah, i see what you mean, but i prefer the look of the two hoops over the seats. I'll have to start praying, and hope the worst never happens!

Heres my MX5. I've had it just over 2 and a half years now.

Its mostly standard bar the Mountney Steering wheel. Its been good to me in the 20,000 miles + its covered under my ownership. The paintwork needs a little attention. I don't plan on getting rid of it anytime soonsmile

It's the cig lighter wink

I'm going to leave the sills black for now as I'm trying to keep it as original as possible. I've got the original steering wheel as well but prefer the slightly smaller wheel for everyday use.

Its going into Freelance Mazda in Kent this week for a new clutch (is 88,000 miles good on the original clutch?) and service tho. Heard there quite a good garage to go to smile

I thought it looked a bit odd laugh

My friend had something that looked similar on his final-gen Escort, where someone had made an immobiliser out of a headphone jack.
