Haven't been back in a while, and Bored that I can't finish my Miata even though I'm sitting here BORED (Did I mention I'm BORED) looking at ALL the parts needed to complete it. Rain, Snow and an old geezer unwilling to freeze working in an open Carport.

I cobbled together a Video (My first post to You-Tube) of old pics and 4 cylinder days track days for FUN & Entertainment, hope you guys like it.

Good video, I really enjoyed that!
Out of interest, why did you decide to go for an LS1 conversion rather than super/turbo charging? I'd love to see an LS1 conversion over here but I suspect it would cost a LOT more in UK than it does over there.

You know, I have quite a few friends that have Turboed (First class workx)and to do it right into the 300+ HP range, engine internals, MONEY, I actually am spending slightly less money and instead of having a Ragged Edge 4 cylinder (potential Grenade) I have a 400 HP NEW Stock Engine to run on pump gas.

Just a few of my thoughts, Thanks.

We looked into doing an LSx conversion to our MX5, but the cost was very prohibitive. Shipping the kits and other parts over here doubles the purchase cost. But the real problem is the availability of engines. Because there aren't many cars sold over here using the LSx range, they are much harder to come by, and the only quote I got on a new engine/transimission was £8,000 - now that the exchange rate has gone south, I'd imagine it is now significantly more expensive than that.

Look up GM Performance Parts (one word I think) .co.uk, they had crate LS3's (420hp in standard form) for £4600, then £900 for GM stand alone management (includes the GM electronic accelerator pedal too)

Could probably find an LS for a lot less than that, particularly in the LS1 range, second hand.
