As per the title really. Car has now done 80k miles and am giving it an oil change next week.

As I am there I thought I could try and do the gearbox and diff oil too - is this relatively easy?

Also - is it recommended to give the engine a flush? If so what do people use?

MX5Parts used to sell a service pack which included everything you needed to do a proper oil change (fliter, drain plug, washer, air filter etc) but I can't find it on the website anymore - anyone know if I now need to buy all the parts separately?

Gearbox is easy enough, a length of hose can help - thread it down through the engine bay to fill the gearbox if you don't have a pump. Haven't done the diff oil on the MX5 but has been easy on other cars.

I used a cheap in-line bulb-pump (meant to be for petrol I think) to change the oil in my gearbox & dif. Easy job though can be a bit messy (you need to fill until it starts dribbling out of the fill hole). The oil also smells a bit.

The one thing I remember is open the filler nut before the drain. Otherwise if you can't get the filler nut off and you've already drained the oil.....
