Gear Stick Gaiter
Discussion
Cheers for the suggestions guys - I changed the box oil when I did the clutch on Friday (for a decent synthetic 75W/90 - I develop transmission fluids at work, so made sure it was a good one!) but the shift hadn't improved.
I looked at the shift boots last night and they seem okay, as does the nylon cup - so I think I'm going to stick the standard gear stick in when it arrives (and change the turret oil - that looks pretty black), and see how I get on - I'll keep you posted.
I think in the case of my car, the 120,000 mile synchros just aren't too keen on being hurried!

Quick update on mine... The standard gear stick arrived today from MX5 Heaven, and I've test fitted it (it's dark, and I want to change the turret oil etc, so will fit properly at the w/e). The shift feels so much better - a longer travel but with only 1/4 the force needed to move through the gate...
Definitely 100% better for what I want...
